Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Myth, truth, facts, reality

Stick with it, and get past the Polar Bear example to the Einstein: A Hipbone Approach IV: Polar bears and polar opposites. He quotes CS Lewis:

I could write, and run in circles, on this topic for days. So I won't. Plus I promised She Who Must Be Obeyed that I would clean up the kitchen. Fact.

Fact vs. Truth. The implications can make your head spin.

I like Einstein's "muscular" "reasoning." That is part of how it works.

I-i-immensely dislike when those hallucinatory links appear in blind spots while riding along a busy six lane boulevard.

That's when musclin' thru reasonin' comes to hand and not amoment to late.

Truth is ascertained from facts, as Rep. John Shimkus illustrated so well.
