Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

More racial nonsense

MLK was a life-long Republican. The Dems hijacked him and twisted his message. I do not know how they did that, but I do know why they did that.


Also, The Media's Racist


I see nothing post-racial happening these days. I wish I could say I did. I see more racism charges flying around than I have seen in 30 years. Readers know that I am sick of the topic of race, and hate the concept. Your character, culture, and manner of living, on the other hand, are of interest to me...assuming I have any interest in you at all. I am of the Imus view of people: "What do you bring to the table? Ya got sumthin today, or ya got nuthin?"

I'm not certain he "belonged" to either party; he had his own agenda and made use of anyone who could support it. When I was younger, I appreciated his efforts to desegregate certain public parts of our society. My grandmother, who lived in The South, was quite ticked off regarding some of the injustices and remained very political - and Republican - until her death.

Later on, one of my neighbors was an FBI agent assigned to MLK for a while. My pious grandmother would have had seconds thoughts if she read some of the reports on his contacts and his conduct.

Ah well...
