We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I think you nailed it, B. Just some silly emails or somethin'. Boys will be boys, and all that. No harm done. Nothin' to see, folks, move along, move along...
The only bright spot is that it won't fall completely out of the spotlight as long as Taranto and a few others keep it alive. Taranto's mentioned it twice, and that's before the latest atrocity came out -- the plan to shut down Fox News by pressuring the FCC into not renewing its license. So it'll still have some legs for a while, but, as with the now "debunked" Climategate, this too shall pass.
I disagree; this may be the most useful "national discussion on race" since Obama came on the scene. The race card has become the most convenient way to shut people down when they disagree. Now we know a little more about how that came to be.
Being a member of the human race, I'm very much a human racist.
So much so that I honestly hope we all succeed at what ever we choose to achieve.
Lesson for the day: This morning there was a launching incident at the marina where I keep my Ranger bay boat. Poor guy lost control of his truck and launched not only his boat, but his trailer and his truck - older black fellow. He managed to get it stopped just in time to keep the engine and cab out of the water but he couldn't get the truck out. Black, white and Asian guys all helped get the guys truck and gear out of the water
I don't know if the MSM will cover it, but they should. I don't mean in the big moral sense, but that it is in the best interest of those in the media who did NOT participate to expose those that did. With the membership of this listserv kept secret and more and more damning information coming out about it, the entire profession may be dragged down (yes, even further than they are already).
