Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

If only someone as gifted and righteous as The One were able to work freely on behalf of the common good, all would be well. After all, how could America go wrong pinning its destiny to a man that uses the word “elegant” and the phrase “academically approved” in the same sentence? You certainly weren’t going to get that from George Bush.



God save us from "academically-approved."

What I wonder is how people like Noonan didn't see through him? Maybe because they're elitists just like him.

Seriously, if there is one phrase that sums up the elitist groupthink that got Obama elected it is "academically approved."

And Peggy Noonan is still there.

It seems he is not capable of being interrupted. Great advice from Napoleon otherwise though. The One, however, will stay the course no matter what. He's may be blind but he's got a vision, twisted as it is, gotta give him that.

Retribution and reparations. That's all one needs to keep in mind when trying to fathom His Oneness. All that matters to him is that we be punished and made to pay.

Whew. I thought the quote about Obama was serious until I clicked through the link. In hindsight, the phrase "The One" should have tipped me off.

Note to Peggy and Diane: when someone uses the phrase "and I believe that" as an intensifier, as their mark of sincerity, it means they don't believe that. (See also "Let me be perfectly clear," and "I'm being honest here."
