Sig Sauer P239 CCP: High Quality Carry Gun.

I never leave home without my carry gun, my keys, my wallet with some cash in it, and my cell. Who would?

Update: In response to queries, I now carry a Colt Cobra with which I very much enjoy trying to shoot beer bottles and cans down on the lower 40. Do not mess with me if you see me in downtown Hartford.

I have never needed to aim a gun at a person while in civilian clothing, although I have performed a Dick Cheney once or twice in thick woods with birdshot. Most bird hunters have. It's something to be avoided, because it pisses off your pals and makes them reluctant to invite you again.

What caliber is yours?

This is my "carry" weapon when I do carry - which is about 75% of the time.

I prefer revolvers to semi-autos. I find it's easier to hide in a pocket, don't have to worry about it going off by accident and it fits my hand which a lot of smaller semi-autos don't.

Agreed, especially for the wife who can't be bothered with the more complex semis. She needs a simple and always reliable point and shoot with minimal practice and maintenance requirements.

Good for you. A very nice choice. More important than the make or caliber is: is it reliable, do you like it, will you in fact carry the thing, are you proficient with it.

Why do I carry a gun? Because I can.

Bravo. Have recently traded up from the 239 to 229 in .40SW- want a little more than 9mm. Our dept. went Sig in '88 and never looked back. BTW: all my carry weapons have Crimson Trace grips...even my snubnose J-frame....can't see the sights any longer.

PS: I feel sorry for you guys that need to carry a weapon to defend yourselves. It would be terrible to reside in such an awful place that you would feel afraid all the time. There are no muggings, rapes and murders where I live. It is a perk of living in the middle of no where.

perfect choice of names my friend. There is a possibility, however slim, of danger no matter who you are, where you live or what you are doing.

Human nature, being what it is? has taught me to always be prepared. Twice now we've defendeded ourselves (The wife and I, seperately) with our "carry" weapons.

For home defense? even our kids can shoot a Mossberg 12 GA

I sincerely hope you scrupulously clean up the glass from the beer bottles! An easier solution is to shoot only cans, then, police them after shooting...
