Why the government will want you to die

It's a simple matter of incentive. With government medicine, you are a cost unless you are still paying plenty of taxes - which is around only 10% of the population, or less. If you are sick or disabled, you become even more of a burden to "the common good."

With private insurance, they want you alive to pay your premium.

Anybody who believes in government benevolence is in dreamland: as we have been saying here, government is just another powerful special interest group. A doc's committment is quite the opposite.

And nobody wants their doctor worrying about "the common good."

There IS no "collective" --there's only individuals. They may be called "a" collective --or anything else --"herd" for example --though not a single steak can be made from a herd of beef --only from the individual critters.

The Word itself has a Nemesis and it is called "Marxism".

Yes, buddy, but a bunch of individuals can form a coherent group, as far as beliefs are concerned. And the liberal 'bunch' now in power does want us old folks to die. And soon. So that those clueless low-achiever types who don't want to work hard, can have "free" health insurance paid for with our tax dollars.

Needless to say, "government benevolence" is a con. Self interest rules. Just watch Harry Reid if you don't believe me.

MM, for me it's best to watch Harry Reid right after seeing Nancy Pelosi --then there's nothing left to throw up. Seriously, can there be anywhere on the planet any two lower-quality human beings more highly placed ?

I am total agreement about government being a special interest group. Like all special interest groups, it is ultimately the people who will decide how far government can get away with, before they step in and put a stop to it.

The collective can't possibly prosper with a soylent green doctrine anyway, for the simple reason that everyone gets old sooner or later. cutting care to seniors will bleed the nation, the society, and the culture of loyalty and trust --from all age cohorts and demographics. it's the route to dissolution of the nation-state. how smart can our new masters be, anyway?

Lets just say for the sake of argument that this administration is truly beneficent and has our best interest at heart with a new government monopoly over the dispensary of health care. (I know, it is a delusional thought--but assume that its true)

How nervous are you then for the eventual day when the other guys return to power? Do you trust all future administrations to be as beneficent?

It is unmistakable that this is a power grab and part of the process of devaluing the dollar to a point that the replacement will be the euro. Sure the health bill is part of the process along with massive spending, cap and tax and anything else thrown in for good measure.
