A Harvard Chair in Perversion Studies

Never a place to be outdone in the PC department, Harvard begins a Chair in Sexual Perversion Studies. But they don't call it that.

My only question is why it isn't in the Medical School, where such things could actually be seriously studied. After all, I have never met a gay or whatever person who really wanted to be like that if given the choice.

I have met a number of gay people who were satisfied with who and what they were. They asked only to be left in peace as they were. I am sure some people who live as gay are hoping to change and I'm sure some do. We also sometimes find people who have lived as "straights" turning to a gay lifestyle.

Being one of those gay people who is trying to change, I can attest that those who are gay that want to stay that way & to be left in peace are very few and far between. If it weren't for the destructive gay agenda being forced down everyone's throats all over the nation, then walking down this path would be so much easier instead of living in the shadows to avoid being any more ostracized.

If people want to stay gay, then that's their business. They just need to stop forcing their agenda in the schools, politics, corporate HR, media, culture, everyday life, etc. & accept that there's no gay gene & the choice of the lifestyle is just that, a choice (for more info, look up NARTH dot com). Now, if a person who's gay doesn't want to be gay, then that is their business as well, and they should have access to every resource to help them change their attraction. Of course, this also destroys the craft of the gay agenda, so I doubt this will be happening anytime soon.

Also realize that those who have lived the "straight" life who end up going into the gay lifestyle still need to pay the consequences of their earlier choices. There is no free lunch, after all.

I just want to say that the notion of choice vs no choice makes individual humans seem more simple, more black and white than they really are.

Being human is not easy. I have never seen a guy in analytic therapy who did not reveal some homosexual fantasies over time. The human soul is a labyrinth.

You're welcome. I also know it's not as simple as choice vs. no choice. Years of trying reparative therapy, group therapy, talk therapy, drug therapy, research, fact-finding missions, conferences, reading, losing friends when asking them for support, trying to find new friends for support, struggling on your own w/ no support, etc. can teach anyone that. However, it's a foundation to a start of something better than what is offered today by mainstream society. Also being on disability w/ no income and stuck in the system, it would be a glorious day indeed when non-PC support groups and therapies are locally accessible and affordable to those who truly need them.

Besides, Harvard has just the place for Perversion Studies. It's the law school.

Wow ! I know you're the Doctor and who am I to disagree ?

I just can't wrap my mind around that statement.
Maybe it's true in your experience, but are you implying that would apply to ALL males or only the ones you have treated?

Good question. I have no idea, but my guess would be women have fewer leanings toward lesbianism because they are hardwired for child-rearing. Men are not. Just a guess. Despite the freedom for sexual activity being equal now, I still think men are more sexual. You gave a good example, Luther, when you said you 'undress' a woman no matter what. With your eyes, that is! I've never 'undressed' a man with my eyes in my life.

Just my two cents. I did read an interesting article on bonobos and their likeness to humans. I can't remember how the study compared the bonobos to us, but it was quite scientific in terms of group, hierarchy, and behaviors; but the one thing that made an impression on me is that they all have sex with one another - male/female, male/male, female/female. It seems the groups had very little infighting...

I would say that's a pretty good guess, Meta. And I think you're right about men being more sexaul... that is hardwired as well I think. And oh... I should have been more descriptive when I mentioned eye 'undressing'. It's not every every woman I see, only those I see as a potential bonobo partner. :)

In the first place, this is a visiting professorship, not a permanent Harvard faculty position. In the second place, it is being funded with outside money, not by Harvard's endowment. In the third place, just about every subject about mankind and the world he lives in, including this one, is worthy of intellectual examination and reflection at SOME level. In a word, this will be an interesting experiment for Harvard.

Bit suprised to find this bitter crop at Maggie's Farm. People are different. Like different things. Maybe some people are born that way, maybe some people choose it - why the word pervert? 'A gay' didn't shag your prize cow, so what's the real issue here?
