Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Run, you cowards!

Not long ago, I found myself watching the video of another pro-Palestinian protest in central London with the Metropolitan Police retreating up St. Jamess Street to Piccadilly in the face of a mob hurling traffic cones and jeering, Run, run, you cowards! and Allahu akbar! You would think the deluded multi-culti progressives would understand: In the end, this isnt about Gaza, this isnt about the Middle East; its about them. It may be some consolation to an ever-lonelier Israel that, in one of historys bleaker jests, in the coming Europe the Europeans will be the new Jews.

Pres. George (Dubya) Bush stood tall against the foes of America and was mercilessly castigated. This was done without concern for our great nation, but for political power. The man was not perfect, as none of us are, but he did not change his actions with the shifting political winds. I believe he honestly tried to do what he felt in his heart was right for our Nation. Now the voters have decided on a new leader. I did not vote for Pres. Obama, but I pray that he will do what is right for our Nation, and not what is politically correct. It may soon be too late. The shining beacon of freedom that is America may be flickering, but it is not extinguished. We owe it to the world, not to perish, but to struggle on in the face of adversity until we are victorious. The men and women serving in our armed forces realize what is at stake. Please offer up your prayers for their safety and the penultimate sacrifice made by so many of them over the years. May God continue to bless America. Memorial Day 2009

I sometimes think we do their propaganda work for them. Describing police as running away because some jerk Islamist's yelling implies they were (they weren't, I was there) is seriously doing some Islamist propaganda. Mark Steyn is such a pillock.
