Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Ivy League Identity Disorder

We post frequently on the sickness infecting Western liberal arts education - the spineless relativism which causes them to doubt, or to hate, themselves, and to denigrate everything that is cheerful, loving, grateful, positive, appreciative of their heritage (and of their work itself, which is as "Western" as can possibly be - "Western" to a fault), Judeo-Christian, and freedom-oriented.


Harvard Chaplain supports death penalty for apostates. Ah, the Religion of Death. He's probably not afraid to say that he wants death for me too, as a Christian who will not submit to Islam. That comes next. Not to worry: our flaccid generation will commit cultural suicide when asked to do so.

Only 10% of Harvard students believe in God, according to an 1800s survey. I imagine it's gone down.

So he's not likely to get much support there.

They might clean up the hiring criteria a little, however.

I am ashamed of my alma mater. Stopped giving money to them anyway because of their opposition to ROTC.

It is interesting to see how "Cultural Relativism" has grown from a useful mental excercise for the lowest of the academics - the Anthropologists (Apologies to the Physical Anth...that might actually qualify as a science.), into an all inclusive doctrine.

Academia has taken a marginaly effective, conceptual tool and turned it into a dogmatic idealogy.

Instead of employing relativism to ensure that ones actions, impressions and motivations are genuine - we are instead asked to adopt relativism as an all encompassing morality.

Blind acceptance has replaced the methodolgy of learning.

The Scientific Method has been replaced by a new improved doctrine. One that encourages the individual to;

Seek out neither facts or truths...

Pose opinions rather than sound arguments...

Ignore your senses and instead guard the sensibilities of those around you.

well said garret. the overthrow of francis bacon in favor of only reporting results that fail to offend will be deeply damaging.

the amazing thing is how easily this relativist doctrine can be logically demolished.

i would love to pose the following to its professorial adherents:

all viewpoints are morally equal.

no they aren't.

Christians are not killed in Islam unless they fight against the Muslim.

America is already Muslim nation now, according to HusseinO.

Folks who voted for him have effectively submitted to being dhimmis.
