Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

HORRENDOUSLY SKEWED AND BIAS REPORTING ON REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES IS NO LONGER NEWS.
The question is when are Republicans going to start chaining thenselves to the doors of the NYT, CBS,NBC et. al. ANSWER: Not in this lifetime. SUGGESTIONS: Get over it, or do something about it. Turn off those networks, completely. Sports, news, all programming. Organize rowdy boycotts in front of their sponsors headquarters. Make trouble for them. Don't buy the sponsors products and tell the grocewry store Regional VP why you're doing it. Do what Michael Moore did and video ambush the CEO's about why they gave 20:1 money to the DEMS. Put it on youtube. CHANCES OF THAT HAPPENING: 0-5% "Gee, I have to watch the playoffs" or "The SuperBowl is on NBC" , " But I've a;ways shopped at XYZ store" Yeah there are a million excuses. Feel free to use them all but don't expect change to occur without pressure. Republicans don't have the guts to even give up their programming, shopping, you name it..They have raised bitching about it to an art form though. So ,just get over it, it's definitely NOT NEWS. I have gotten to the point where I must admit to myself that the Democratc Socialist come to the fight with guns and the Republicans come with Points of Order, and that if you want to win you'd better bring a gun. CHANCES OF THAT HAPPENING: 0% Why is it this way? Because most all of the House and Senate are totally set for life, so if they lose a vote, so what. Habu pretty well pegs it. The principal Congressional activities are lobbing and running for office so they can run for office. Our seditious press is our enemy, pure and simple. They do not have our interests in mind. Neither candidate has a clue about global climate, and little else for that matter. I'm sick of having to choose the best of the least, and disappointed that it's largly our own fault.
Without term limits what can be done? Habu, I have read all of your articles on SCOTUS, and I believe you are correct. I commented once that if Barack is elected, Hillary will be a nominee. Republicans are like Dagos showing up to a gun fight with a bunch of Swiss army knives. I know you don't panic. Let's just wait until after Nov. 4th. If Obama gets elected, in my book there are no rules any more. Any truth to the rumor that you're having an affair with Joy Behar? : ) Now thats a woman I call a two bagger!! I won't elaborate on that. My best to you ,and Mrs H.
Jappy,
Thank you for reading what I write. Here we are twelve days before the election and NO ONE in our government has forced Obama to produce a valid birth certificate. That is amazing. The politicians know that if they disqualify him now the cities of this country will go up in flames and a huge race war will ensue, so they would rather use the US Constitution as the torch that will burn the shortest period of time and produce the least heat and light. Obviously this is so myopic a view as to ignite open rebellion and I am all for that, for if they can do that with such ease they can do anything with equal ease. Once the election occurs who will overturn it should it be discovered he is a Kenyan, without an even larger conflagration? We, as the colonials use to say, are stuck between buzzard and hawk. And simply as an obvious aside he has enough money to run out the clock no matter who might intervene. We could indeed win this election but it will be by the grace of God, not by the laws we have that have proved so malleable, and so unenforced, as to be worthless, and too easily replace by venal men whose lives should be in severe jeopardy for the violence they do to the Republic and her laws. No Jappy we must use the same tactics our enemies used on us. I say enemies because there can be know knowledgeable person who can say they are not anti American Marxists. Boycott the networks and call or write the sponsors. There is no better time, for the economic crisis is already hurting them and a gentle push could topple them. There is no reason to hold back for Obama’s hall of mirrors tax proposals are coming straight from your paycheck and going into some illiterate non productive useless person. Harass, switch parties and go to their meeting and raise hell. Agitate, agitate, and agitate. Or allow the Republic and the Constitution to become meaningless. "Or allow the Republic and the Constitution to become meaningless."
Remember the flack Bush got when he and Gonzales tried to replace (fire) the lawyers around the country and it cost Gonzales his job? No one knew exactly what the deal was, but turns out these DOJ lawyers were not pursuing complaints against ACORN. ACORN is getting revenge. Some things are already rendered meaningless it would seem. ` Should we change GOP to mean Grand Old Pussies? I so love the image of a bunch of us chained to the doors of the NYTs I almost can't stand it. I'd be first in line, and I'd bring attitude. I might even spit.
` Ah..the BBC..doing what they do best..pandering to the enemy and undermining the west..oh and I get to pay for it too, bloody marvelous.
Today's Message To All Maggie's Farmers: Do Not Despair! Do not be duped and discouraged by the avalanche of lies and disinformation being disseminated by the shameless MSM "free press" acting more like latter day Lenins and Stalins. Yes, as Thalpy says, our seditious press is the enemy of the people and they must be resisted with everything we've got. This election is very winnable against Obama who is only the latest Democrat trying to finesse the unwinnable hand past the American people. We are not falling for it- take this one right down to the wire, my friends, and be part of the stunning McCain Victory on November 4!
One more thing: Pray for nasty weather across the mid-west swing states, down into VA, and moving rapidly east into PA on Tuesday, November 4, sending the ACORNS and their dedicated followers running for cover. How about some nasty weather down in FL, too? That is the kind of "voter supression" Republicans pray for!
Meta,
Great point. I can also remember when Bill Clinton fired all the US Attorneys and the press was mildly disturbed. As I said it's time for an organization to be formed with the aid of a Republican bebefactor to cause a ruckus, make some trouble for the sponsors of shoews on TV. OK so Alinsky's model worked to perfection (so far) there is no reason we can't used the same guidelines. Our "organization use to be the GOP. Now we need tougher men and woman from the LLL ( seee that's one letter more baad ass in the alphabet than KKK and it could stand fo LAST LINE of LIBERTY, and action group in every city to make life a livinh hell for the Democrats and their money people. 16 and 17 year olds are perfect since they are not adults say if you wanted to creme pie NARAL spokesperson just to pick a left organization. Speaking of the Black Karl Marx, have any of you googled up some pictures of Frank Marshall Davis and compared them to the 1? I think we know why "Dreams From My Father" was ghost written by Davis now.....
GMPunter ... watch it with that "nasty weather" thang, dude. We old folks here in Texas would like a nice clear Election Day so that totter to the Polls and vote without falling down. And we will get there and vote, just like we did in the primary, even though the sewer repair people refused to let us drive back down our block, so I walked. It seemed a lot longer than it used to be, but anger is a great motivator.
And Habu ... if we form an Action Arm of the Republican Party, it ought to be for the younger folks, who have more strength and freedom of action to tie themselves to buildings and think up other effective kinds of mischief. My "white horse" has been out to pasture for some years now, and I want a new generation to take over. I'll make the coffee and cookies if they'll do the physical stuff. Marianne MM,
I agree. We must get the organization set up by someone who is an organizer. The best I ever saw was Lee Atwood. Bush I's campaign manager. He took no prisoners. I'm not sure we have a firebrand in the party that can organize a sit down, chained to the door of the NYT type affair. Or go to a Democratic press conference, yell from the back of the room, or even less unfurl a sign. It’s pitiful. In this election Republicans are so afraid they won’t even put a McCain/Palin sticker on their car or in their yard. Heck I'm not sure the entire party leadership has any guts at all. An activist Republican Party is an oxymoron. Would anybody in the party today have the guts of a Barry Goldwater who called it right when he said: “I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.” Well we are, or I am with a few trying to defend liberty. It can not be said often enough that almost without exception every great philosopher recognized that governments can and usually do turn against the freedoms of the people. We are about to get a face full of laws constricting our God given freedoms. But a benefactor is absolutely necessary. We need someone to counter the George Soros' on the left. We need someone like Newt Gingrich who knows history and organization to get involved but so far he has shown no guts for a ruckus. He appears to enjoy lecturing which might get the job done in twenty or thirty years, if ever. But most of all we need the energy of youth, which as youth tends to do is following a trend, the Obama Big Rock Candy Mountain. I came up with a good idea to protest Critical Mass bike-nazis. All you need are enough people to block the street and sidewalks at some pinch point on their route. Simply standing in their way, asserting the rights of the Pedestrian (BTW Peds have been around longer than bikies, and are much greener).
It's called: "Critical Ass". The trick is avoiding the brawl. No matter what you do- the press will report on Republican Hate Mongers assaulting innocent fists with their faces. They'd come arrest us all in the hospital for daring to "incite hatred". The reason we can't protest is that there is no right for the Right to protest anything, only "hate". Gonna take some brave souls. Phil you put you finger on the problem.
"Gonna take some brave souls." Our side has plenty except at the leadership positions. Former military men have been indoctrinated to obey. And that's what 99.9% will do. It matters not that there are now identifiable domestic enemies; they are not focused to initiate conflict within the US even though the Posse Commitatus Act was suspended within the enactment of the Patriot Act, which may be turbed on us. Thucydides wrote in his one book, History of the Peloponnesian War, what we are facing: "The strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must" Thus may be our fate unless we summond the courage to change the paradigm. From the bias article - which seems to have attracted all our attention: "While some will seize on these findings as evidence that the media are pro-Obama, the study says they actually contain "a strong suggestion that winning in politics begets winning coverage, thanks in part to the relentless tendency of the press to frame its coverage of national elections as running narratives about the relative position of the candidates in the polls ... Obama's numbers are similar to what we saw for John Kerry four years ago, and McCain's numbers are almost identical to what we saw eight years ago for Democrat Al Gore."
Doesn't the second half of that paragraph undermine, rather than support the conclusion of the first half? As to the firing of the US Attorneys, BTW, some of them do have a legitimate beef. They were mostly trying to build prosecutions, but didn't have the evidence. Some Republicans wanted them to go forward anyway, for the political effect. Like good honorable conservatives, they refused. Even if the other guys are cheating, they said, we're not going to. Republican frustration with Democrats cheating caused them to act rashly. Understandable, but still wrong. For the record, most of those attorneys believe the Democrats were likely cheating, but there wasn't enough evidence to convict. I understand both sides of that argument, but think the fired attorneys (or the two I have read up on, at least), were fired for stupid reasons by people whose irritation overrode their good judgment. Yes, we want to punish election cheaters. No, this wasn't the way to do it. None of this is to say that the media coverage was particularly fair. |
