We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
We posted part of the McCain speech at the Al Smith dinner yesterday, but this is the entire thing. It's a kick - guaranteed, and it would make a heck of a campaign ad:
Thanks for the post, BD. Finally got around to watching it.
Comments:
- As you know, electronic filters are very sophisticated these days. Is it inconceivable that during the debates they purposefully filtered out some of the timbre in McCain's voice to make him sound older? He sounds ten years younger in this clip.
- I almost had a heart attack when he said he'd fired his entire staff. I wasn't expecting a comedic routine.
- "But 'Messiah' is above my pay grade."
Zing!
There were a bunch of great zingers, and Big O took them well. Fun post.
