We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The 'click to biggify' pic was great! And obviously nice and fresh, what with the "Plumber Boycott" entry. Other nice touches were looking for info by state or "All 57" and the "Things To Do" -- like Grow Up.
One inadvertantly funny part was when it said that due to "unforeseen events" (Venus rising in the House of Jupiter), the celebration coronation had been postponed. Unforeseen? Ask any astrologer and they'll tell you that event's been charted for the past one thousand years!
Good news from The Great White North NJ. Conservative leader PM Stephan Harper maintained his minority government in the Canadian Election. He picked up several seats but unfortunately did not win a majority. Yet. PM Harper is young and he could still win that majority the next time out, as the people and the wealth and power of the nation continues to flow West. PM Harper is a good leader and he has been effective even in a minority position. The Liberal opposition bled seats with a carbon tax plan, The Green Shift, now better known as The Green Shaft. The Liberal leader Stephane Dions' performance resembled Beaker singing Feelings.

Sure is a lot of tearing of hair and beating of chests during this seemingly never ending Presidential election. I am still pressing for a McCain/Palin win, It is not over until it is over. Do not give up before that last buzzer. I am sticking with Plan A, and Arizona's, John McCain and Alaska's Sarah Palin (and Alberta's Stephen Harper). Here is a fun video about not giving up, from the tv show Due South, which I never did watch, but I like this clip on youtube. Fair warning though, I had fun at Disney World too.
Dr. Mercury, enjoyed the Gordon Lightfoot feature. Here is another Great Lakes shipping song, also from Due South and Paul Gross, who is no Gordon Lightfoot or Bob Dylan, but he is very good....looking.
This mornings Boston Herald has a story on Acorn's boston office being broken in to and all the computers stolen.
Acorn officials interviewed seem to be spinning it that it may have been done by their enemies (read Republicans, right-wing nut jobs, etc.)
My immediate reaction (no indication of authorities having same) is that these dirt-bags are just covering their own asses with a fake burglary.
I posted the whole article just above. You know they faked the burglary. This is just the beginning, and now that SCOTUS has denied the GOP's request for Brunner to release the 200K registrations, the DOJ and FBI are on it. They have plenty to work with and this will just get bigger and bigger. It is potentially a very dangerous situation.
