We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Well said, American Idol sums up Obama. And it came through in many ways last night. McCain supporters should be energized for the stretch drive with the knowledge that the mo is on our side, 20 days is an eternity in a campaign, and much can happen between now and Nov 4., nearly all of it bad for Obama. And they know it. McCain supporters now need to dismiss the crazy polls and bear down hard through the mud in the stretch.
The stretch drive of a Presidential has a fascinating dynamic like no other and it is in these next 20 days where the race is won or lost. Obama has been playing not to lose what he thinks is a lead indicated by very uncertain polls; MCain and Palin just have to bang away at reinforcing all of the deeply held doubts about Obama- and there are many- and the decision will come down to one thing: Which of these 2 candidates is the leader to be trusted in the White House? That is McCain's trump card and never forget it!
