Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

American voters will not understand this!
This is classic socialism (aka Communism of the 30s to 60s before the poison was relabeled); it will, like all entitlement programs, be a disincentive to honest work.

no offense but I really don't care if Obama has a girlfriend, didn't King have lots of groupies do. But I guess if being Comrade Obama isn't enough to keep him out of the WH always go back to sex.

Former Senator John Danforth just held a press meeting with a panel to ask, under the guise of bipartisanship, that representatives of both candidates' campaigns to work together in the next three weeks to make sure there is no voter fraud in any of the contested areas where there have been charges of fraud. He especially requested that Obama 'assure' this move and step forward to help because of his connections to ACORN. It was brilliant. This 'plea' (challenge) leaves McCain free to stay above the scum-fray - something McCain has tried to do but has been soundly criticized for by everyone. It puts Obama on the spot big time as Danforth ended the request with lofty rhetoric about how neither side wants any question of voter fraud to sully the election. Yay!
