Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Regarding China's role, I do not believe the excess foreign currency reserves of China caused this mess.

The root cause of this problem lies in the government interference in free markets. Namely, it was the expansion of the Community Reinvestment Act in 1994 along with the easing of credit standards at Fannie and Freddie to accommodate CRA objectives.

In addition, there was complicity. The investment context was a high valuation, low yield world. The Fed kept interest rates to low for too long and Greenspan had injected massive amounts of fiat money whenever there was a crisis. Attempts at reforming the GSEs were blocked at every turn by Democrats. Wall Street, which allocates capital, figured out how to create securities to distribute. International banks also got in the game. Ratings agencies added investment grade ratings. Hedge funds used leverage provided by banks to juice returns, increasing demand.

Now governments are intervening on a global and massive scale taking us farther down the road of socialism.

The trade imbalance with the Chinese did positively impact demand for US Treasuries, enabling the US Government to finance deficits. That is the main contribution of the Chinese.

Furthermore, there was little deregulation in financial markets. No one believes that Glass-Steagall would have prevented the subprime mortgage crisis.

Regarding the treatment of the press, Obama and his ilk will not treat anyone well. That is what so many folks do not get.

Obama expects people to serve him. He believes he is better than you and me. His disdain shows up everywhere. He mocks people who cling to their guns and religion. He shows no respect for people in the press even though they are in the tank for him. He looks down at people who serve in the military defending cause of freedom not only for America but for others around the world.

His plane stinks because taking out the garbage is beneath these people.

If he is elected, he will expect you to serve him, transfer your hard earned money to the government and allow the government to decide who should receive. And you can bet, he will get what he wants when he wants it because he is not one of the little people.

If Obama was not so dangerous, he would be a joke.

I am hoping McCain will wake up and take this guy apart. That material is almost endless.

Obama/ACORN voter fraud, Obama/Fannie/Freddie Scandal, Obama/Bombers Ayers & Dohrn, Obama/Wright Anti-American Rants, Obama/Ayers/Dohrn/Chicago School Indoctrination Camps, there is no end to the possibilities. All Americans, including law-abiding Democrats, should be outraged at the nerve of these people trying to steal this election in broad daylight.

I am expecting to see the 527-produced masterpiece which shows these faces while pointing out Obama's unenviable record, ending with quick flashes of McCain-Palin impressive resumes/bios and sunny optimism. I saw a previous McCain-Palin ad done in this flash-card fashion and it was very effective, it literally connects the dots in front of your eyes, "Politics For Dummies". Then run it in all of the swing states from now until November 4th.

Start running these ads this week-end and then McCain can hammer on them at the debate next week. "Americans want to know who they are electing and we know very little about you, Senator. We have not heard from any of your colleagues and friends who witnessed the many achievements listed on your resume. Why? Who are these witnesses? You should be ashamed of ACORN given the widespread voter fraud being carried out in your behalf."
