McCain-Palin Ticket has the winning hand if they will only bid and play it correctly, holding nearly all of the trump cards at this point. Obama-Biden Ticket has no more trump left to play, it's been played, i.e., the economic crisis, and now they hope to run out the clock. McCain-Palin, just the opposite: Attack, attack, attack right through November 3rd, playing a new trump card every other day. Repetition is the mother of learning, as my old college roommate used to say.

All of this conventional wisdom about voting out the party in power during an economic downturn/crisis/Depression whatever-the-hell- you- want- to- call- it is greatly mitigated if not cancelled out by the least qualified candidate to run for President in my lifetime, his questionable background and character, his membership in the majority party in Congress which brought us this mess, his receiving enormous campaign contributions from the precipitating cause of the financial crisis, his direct involvement in an organization dedicated to massive voter fraud, and on and on, all just waiting to be highlighted in swing state 527 ad's.

No, McCain-Palin and their handlers will have only themselves to blame if they don't win the swing states by enough votes to exceed what is called the "margin of litigation" in John Fund's excellent book "Stealing Elections". But if the vote falls in the "margin of litigation" in these swing states, then it will almost certainly be a result of voter fraud by the Obamafanatics, and McCain must fight to the last breath. Somehow I think McCain, the proven warrior and survivor, is the wrong guy to be screwing in a contested post- election battle like this.
