We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
My opinion? I like her, but I'm not convinced that she is better informed about the world than I am. Tonight is her last chance to impress. Biden, of course, as a left-wing male, has been given countless opportunities to be a doofus. It's the new double standard - Dems presumed smart; Repubs presumed morons.
Here's Sarah on Hannity radio yesterday (audio only):
Yes, many, perhaps most of our leadership should go, but what will we send in their place? Without limits of terms it might just return to what we have.
Palin has been under uninterrupted attack from a seditious MSM. They are seditious because they have altered the traditional press role, making themselves indoctrinating propagandists. There is no fair play or objectivity in the MSM today--and they wonder why their readership and viewership have fallen off. The MSM have become traitors to our country. They damage us more each day.
Dittos, Phil. The fact that it is Governor Palin counts for a lot to me and a lot of other folks I'm sure. You just don't get to be elected Governor of any state without a helluva lot on the ball. Her resume and accomplishments look a whole lot more impressive to me than Obama and Biden combined. All Sarah needs to do is be Sarah and she will do very well. And a few quick and well placed jabs at Biden and Obama won't hurt either.
RE: Governor Palins experience...
"...except for the easily demonstrated fact that Governor Palin, on August 27th of this year, completed a pipeline agreement with Canada, which is a foreign country. The agreement had been stymied for over two decades by various interests in Alaskan state government. Palin got it wrapped up in that busy eighteen months."
Bingo! The Alaska pipeline deal is a huge deal. We should all be extremely grateful to Gov. Palin for getting it done. It will lift up many peoples lives in both countries and that will include the Native American Tribes whom she also closed the deal with (no small feat!). She talks about it but not many people seem to really get it. Especially for some of the Dems, who, iirc, are on record as wanting to shut down delivery of oil from the Alberta oilsands too, a demonstrably wacko idea at this particular point in time.
