Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

APS Climate Change Statement

APS Position Remains Unchanged

The American Physical Society reaffirms the following position on climate change, adopted by its governing body, the APS Council, on November 18, 2007:

"Emissions of greenhouse gases from human activities are changing the atmosphere in ways that affect the Earth's climate."

An article at odds with this statement recently appeared in an online newsletter of the APS Forum on Physics and Society, one of 39 units of APS. The header of this newsletter carries the statement that "Opinions expressed are those of the authors alone and do not necessarily reflect the views of the APS or of the Forum." This newsletter is not a journal of the APS and it is not peer reviewed."

What is Obama talking about? He often sounds like a silly, bombastic adolescent who sees all of his thoughts as deep, new and full of meaning. The more he opens his mouth, the more he shows himself to be a profoundly foolish fellow for a man his age.

Anchoress likes Hussein for his legs so now, asserting he is a likable enough fella comes as no suprise.

However, I don't thing his legs or his fella is likeable.

I must agree with his daughter's assesment, the boy stinks.

From half way cross the globe the boy stinks.

What's up with the Anchoress?
