T. Boone Pickens and wind power.

If T. Boone says it works it is good enough for me. Note that the wind power he is investing in is right up the middle of the country, on dry land. Won't need boats to look after it. Also he talks about natural gas. I would put more faith in the pols if they could get even one pipeline (and one refinery) done. All the Republican "drill now" hype does not get any gas to the market. No sense having a lot of oil or natural gas on hand if it cannot be processed and delivered.

Also, believe T. Boone is a big investor and supporter of synth oil (tar sands or shale oil). Alberta tar sands oil has been a huge mega project that has taken a few decades to develope. I think that, as with many Canadian mega projects, much of the big money invested has come from the US. Putting a new shale oil development in Colorado, for instance, is no small deal. IMHO, it ain't gonna happen. Shale oil is mined. The process is not pretty.

And the nuclear energy business is fraught with big problems and perils and costs. Google Hanford (Obama had never heard of it. I suspect that is true for many people on the East Coast) or WHOOPS, or Candu. Who is going to do the financing after learning about WHOOPS? And how did India and Pakistan get the bomb anyhoo? And why are the French suddenly so smart? IIRC, the French blew up a Greenpeace boat that was in port and killed a guy because of protests against French nuclear tests in the South Pacific.
