Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

What trips me out about the picture is the sideways wake of the boat from the force of the guns. That's some serious kickback!

Any bloggers out there want a fun project? A few days ago Neal Boortz linked to a NY Times article from the late 70's that said almost exactly what the 'Chicken Little' link above said. It would be fun to do a paragraph-by-paragraph comparison of the two.

Still getting global warming in the mountains of Utah. Snowbird ski resort is still open...Also, friends in Northern Idaho have not seen a day over 60 degrees yet. They normally summer in Idaho but want to go back to Az as Idaho is still too cold...Don't let the chicken littles change the argument to climate change. Hold their feet to the fire with their original global warming hysteria.

That's not raw violence...it's radar-directed, carefully aimed, superbly-choreographed, well-planned violence.

The best kind.

The kind that can lob a 16-inch, 1/8-ton shell of high-explosives to within yards of where it was intended. And mostly done by 18- to 24-year-old kids (strike that - men and women - they only look like kids to a geezer like me).

Nothing is more important than energy Independence. It will solve all our real problems. Any national problem not solved by energy independence is no a serious problem
