Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

More QQQ

"If things really suck in America as bad as Obama and Hillary say, then how come everybody in the world who wants freedom and opportunity will do anything to come here?"

That is Mark Levin's correct quote, I think, as I heard it on the radio. We are the world's freedom and opportunity destination. If you want other things, you can go elsewhere - or stay where you are.

First, you don't have to like the messenger for the message to be true. I'll acknowledge the truth wherever it comes from.

Rarely does one person have it right all the way down the line.

Second, if BHO or HRC have their way and remove all the incentives to work and install the nanny state, we (America) will lose this distinction.

Third, what were the two biggest mistakes leading to the Great Depression? (A) The Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act (protectionism) and (B) tax increases.

What two candidates propose (i) protectionism and (ii) massive tax increases in the face of economic weakness (and likely a recession of undetermined severity at this point in time)? And that takes me back to my second point.

Many people confuse being smart with possessing wisdom.
