Maggie's Farm

A rich couple I know, supported a private college. They gave themselves their advanced degrees, and began "adult, distance (3 miles) learning classes". Because they had sooo much political and financial clout that when they decided to run a "colored cohort", no one questioned the content, or the process. Soooo, let's see what you folks think of this: 20 minority students begin the program in September. Most of the 20 have had less than a freshman year of college. Four of the entering cohort class members have submitted a "online diploma mill certificate", as a part of their "qualifying packet". Most of the class iis middle aged. Starting in September they attend classes 1.5 days a month for a total of nine(9) months. Total classroom hours is approximately 14 hours. Through the cooperation of the local political power bosses (union) they are assigned to do teaching internships for 6 weeks in various classrooms around the city during the summer school session. After 14 hours of class time, and six weeks of internship these 20 minority students are each awarded all of the following:
1. Bachelor's degree
1. M.Ed degree
1 K-12 teaching certificate

If you think that is bad here is the "rest of the story". The new president (extreme liberal lesbian) instructed the financial aids staff to process those 20 student loans (about $40,000 each) in such a way as to assure that these loans would fall through the cracks--the students would never be held accountable for repayment. The new president had received her ph.d in education from AZ state, where her doctoral thesis focused on finding ways to finance minority studentt loans. Of course, the very wealthy do-gooder, the one who "designed" the colored cohort, hired the personel, etc. she got to keep nearly 60% of those monies. Ohh, and the US attorney to whom this studnet loan fraud was reported: well, she is related to the same family. Nothing was done. Nothing will be done--but your kids will pay for those 20 student loans. Not to worry!
