We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Rope-a-dope?

EJ Dionne wonders whether Hillary Clinton's arrogance has gotten the better of her. I wonder that too. Isn't she just another one of those thousands of arrogant, self-satisfied Wellesley gals, born on third base and thinking that they hit a triple, who are taught that they are anointed to run the world? And how come she didn't get into Radcliffe if she's so darn smart? What were her SATs?

My question: Did Obama pull a rope-a-dope on her? 

Related: The anybody-but-Hillary vote. Apparently younger men cannot stand her, and some older women seem to like her, for whatever reason.

That hard anti-Hillary vote--people who'll vote against her regardless of who her oppo might be--is pretty good news. Maybe the syndicate will finally fail.

I guess it depends upon what your definition of "some older women" is. Caught, perhaps, in the amber of my own Pauline Kael bubble, all I can say is that some older women can't stand the nanny scold and never could. Not to mention -- in Mark Steyn's words -- the Clinton crime family.

Muslims didn't origin=ate the term, me thinks.

But, when a hand whent ovrboard a storm, crew'ld rope the dope, since antiquity.

Hussein couldn't rope a blind red heifer in a snow storm.

However, he'll fall just as hard at general election as Hillbillary could, if'n, GOP pulls hard rope and stands a right the only Don to trim sail USA.

I imagine Hillary's SAT's were probably pretty good. She was a National Merit Scholar, suggesting a score of at least 140 (out of 160) on what are now called the NMSQT's (The cutoff varies in each state every year). That would in turn suggest SAT's between 1350 - 1450, and maybe higher. And that's before the 50 point correction they put in in the '90's, so it would be equal to 1400-1500 today. This is, BTW, an area where I have some minor expertise.

Kids can vary widely from test to test, but there is a fair correlation between the standardized tests.

Look, I'd love to say differently, but we have to follow the facts where they go.
