We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Howard Zinn, on the big screen. America-hating commie propagandists are so 1930s 1960s. Even Pete Seeger admitted (this year!) that he made a mistake by loving and defending Stalin all these years. Zinn, I suspect, still a Stalinist?
Assertions by Mr. Zinn that he has never been too interested in being objective about his treatment of history should be justification enough to miss his new program. Participatory progressives must feel a calling to instruct us. After all, how could any of us possibly come to a proper understanding without their help and guidance? What would we do without them?
ht Drudge, this is a long read--but worth it. This is the subject that your Howard Zinns will not discuss, other than to shout the code-word 'racism' at 'society'.
Politically, it is what the 50 years of Democratic Party control over urban gov't has done to urban minorities, via the Projects and the welfare, and the "crime is society's fault, not the criminal's" legal system.
Now look, just look, at the pretty mess they've made.
