Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Stockhausen was the jackass who called the 9/11 attacks a "really daring piece of art," or some such excrable hogwash. Leni Reifenstahl was more respectable as an artist...

Great - our comments work.

When it comes to artistic production, we take the Laura Ingraham view of "shut up and sing."

If we judged people by their politics alone, we would have half the friends we have, and would enjoy only a little of the arts and letters.

Re Stockhausen, we have heard enough of him and John Cage to last a lifetime. Nevertheless, it does make you listen differently - even though it might not hit the spot like Mozart.
