Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

The best burgers in America

Ellen Across America lists these places.

Editor: I vote for The Red Rooster in Brewster, NY - and the ones made at home (but not often enough by a long shot). I know people who will drive an hour for a couple of Rooster burgers and a little mini golf in the back.

I have to disagree. The best hamburgers are served at a fast food joint with locations around Alabama called Milo's:

This article, sadly, missed Hooligan's Saloon in Soldotna, Alaska, home of Todd's Burger - inarguably the best burger in North America.

Come to visit Omaha and fine out about about real hamburgers at (in alphabetical order) Danny's, Dinker's, King Kong, and Louie M's Burger Lust.

Heck, even a pretty ordinary hamburger at some place like The Radial Cafe and others is worth coming here for.

I'm probably omitting someplace that deserves mention, but I have only been here since 1989 and there are lots of places I have not tried yet--like Zesto's which draws crowds.

I am going to Virginia for 6 weeks. I am told that 5 Guys has the best burger, any comments? Any other locations in the area? Thanks
