Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

As a matter of ethics, should PETA members be denied medications and procedures that have tested on animals? Would not want to force them to compromise their beliefs.

Bill Maher is just another lame comedian who has resorted to shock as a crutch for his lack of talent...Did you hear that last Halloween he wore a costume with a stingray's stinger sticking out of his chest? Appropo for the recent death of Croc Hunter Steve Irwin...He is long overdue for having his teeth bent. I would be happy to fix that for him.

Walt, I love your idea.

My dad died ten years ago. I'd happily see every squirrel and rabbit on this planet (and many of the dogs -- ducking the rotten tomatoes from dog lovers) dead to have him back healthy.

Maher should put his body where his mouth is and offer himself up in place of a dog for some experimentation. So should all PETA members. Stand behind what they espouse.

That's the chickendog argument.

This anonymous says try your medical procedure on my particular cats and you be unlucky dogs. Too bad about the unwanteds in shelters and those raised for labs. Life/ birth circumstance is either lucky or brutal. Makes me cry but what's moral about wet cheeks?

PETA is a fraud of logic and logistics, though. One, humans are carnivores and there's a natural food-chain of eat or be eaten. Two, dumpsters have been found with PETA "rescued" unwanted animal-carcasses.
