Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Great clip! Thanks for sharing. I'm gonna capture it locally before it conveniently "disappears".
Islam would enslave us or kill us.
This next statement will ignite a firestorm of indignation. In this countires history we have had many instances where for whatever reason our "laws" have become inimical to our God given freedoms. The Constitution doesn't "give" us these freedoms they are simply codified into a corpus juris. Our rights are God given. So when in times where our lawgivers fail to acknowledge a physical danger to our being the population has formed sub rosa organizations, usually entitled "vigilantes" to manage the physical threat until the law makers can catch up. Law after all is not active but reactive and often times it's glacial speed is measured in the blood and treasure of it's citizens. Yes, I acknowledge that we are a nation of laws, not men, but the moral basis for our laws does not come from man, it comes from God and we acknowledge that. Therefore at certain times it becomes necessary to have organizations that will form and move against a physical danger such as Islam's philosophy of domination or death to infidels, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddists, in other words the remainder of mankind outside of Islam. So I say it becomes a moral duty to form such self defense sub rosa organizations and remove the threat before it can form in a new area. That means warring on Islam in America now. It is apparent that our law makers will not act with any courage or resolve to impound this bastard religion, this murderous ideology, Islam. Even now they cannot speak the words to begin the debate. Islam is in the corridors of power remains a "religion of peace" March 23, 1775 Patrick Henry said in part, " Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace-- but there is no peace. The war is actually begun!" And so it has for over a thousand years but now the simitar is celesium or uranium. Henry also spoke words that are a crystal echo for todays ears. "I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience. I know of no way of judging of the future but by the past. And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of the British ministry for the last ten years to justify those hopes with which gentlemen have been pleased to solace themselves and the House." It is a time for action, and remember well my firends, "Cowards die many times before their deaths; The valiant never taste of death but once. Of all the wonders that I yet have heard, It seems to me most strange that men should fear; Seeing that death, a necessary end, Will come when it will come. Julius Caesar II, Shakespeare Do what must be done. Do it in small goups with hushed lips. It is a life and death struggle we face. Patrick Henry: http://libertyonline.hypermall.com/henry-liberty.html Over on another site, authored by Kim du Toit, the "other side of kim.com", one of the treads mentions how delighted the Democrats would be to see W defeated in Iraq.
Correctly, it is pointed out that it wouldn't just be W it would be America. One poster said that made no difference to th Democrats because they hate the USA as much as they hate the president. That they love Europe however, and that would be because Europe is socialist. I cannot think of an exception. This brought me to the thought of how true that is and how much it shows up in our legislation. The states were originally given all the rights not specifically delegated to the federal government which was constrained in it's power as much , and as tightly, as the Founding Fathers thought they could. The states were to be the incubators for new ideas on laws ,commerece and societal change. But our Federal government broke out of it's original intent by force of judicial review and the expansion of the commerce clause...the states were relegated to vassal status. But for the past eighty years the Socialist Democrats have looked to European socialist states for their ideas on what OUR laws should look like. Since the 1920's there has been a love affair between the Socialist Democrats in the USA with the variant Marxist oriented socialist states of Europe. I guess the Socailist Democrats enjoy their ideology undiluted by our own culture, preferring the fons et origo of European socialism. It is an abomination to the intent of this countriy's founding principles. Socailist Democrats are do-do heads. fons et origo: noun: the source and origin of something not trying to be patronizing just helpful. Buddy,
You mentioned yesterday that I ought to write a book. It's said that everyone has at least one book inside them. I've got three chapter written over the past three years, taking the Margaret Mead approach ( took her eight years to write "Gone With the Wind") I did a year of research and then story boarded the entire thing, with timeline charts etc. The tough part is I'm trying to inject some humor into the book a la MASH type stuff since much of what goes on does have a bent humor to it. That is tough writing, at least for me..If I had just a bit of Oscar Wildes humor I could do it whiz bag, but then there was only one Oscar..I'd even easily settle for P.J. O'Rourke's humor...anyway it's at full glacial speed. I even invested in a$400 piece of screenwriting software, knowing from my Beverly Hills days that a producers won't even look at a script unless it's in the proper format ..that is a simultaneous work...I figure it'll all be wrapped up about the time the biodegradeable urn-bag degrades in the Atlantic, 30.3N -81.39W. Correction.
Ah, that would be Margaret Mitchell who may have known Margaret Meade but I'm sure did not write "Growing up in Samoa." Indeed not. The latter work, of course, was a work of fiction.

Will to Win By George H. Wittman Published 8/24/2007 American Spectator There is a great deal that is not understood about American fighting forces in Iraq. The essence of their spirit, however, was captured best by a serving British officer referring to the average U.S. combat soldier: "These chaps really want to win." It's as simple as that. The American soldier, Marine, airman or sailor in a combat role in Iraq -- or Afghanistan -- has a burning desire to win, to beat the bad guys. It is easy to say that is what they are paid to do and what is expected of them. But the level of their desire is far beyond anything that the civilian world can comprehend -- certainly beyond the ken of most of the members of Congress, of both parties. All American politicians pay lip service to "the heroic job done by our people in the military services" (a favorite phrase), but only the few who have served in combat theaters understand the fighting spirit that drives the volunteer armed forces of the United States. Unfortunately, even some veterans of earlier conflicts have made examples of themselves as political opportunists and chosen to ignore what they know, or should know, so well. All professional soldiers have the same desire to win, but America's volunteers come from a culture that considers "winning" to be its reason to exist. Whether it is in business, sports, or the ordinary aspects of every day life, Americans strive to win. This is a characteristic that is often looked down upon, even condemned, as unsophisticated and rather base by what used to be known as the " Old World." When the 5th and 6th Marines spearheaded the successful U.S. Army 2nd Division attack on their sector of St. Mihiel in 1918 against entrenched German machine guns, it surprised the veteran French command -- but not the Marine commanders. When a worn down 101st Airborne heroically held off everything the besieging German Army could throw at them at Bastogne, George Patton wasn't surprised. He just turned his Third Army around and ramrodded the 4th Armored Division through the 1944 winter snow to relieve them. And when elements of the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the 7th Cavalry fought to a standstill in 1965 an entire PAVN division in the Ia Drang Valley in Vietnam, they were honored, but no one other than the North Vietnamese was surprised. These were all American combat soldiers, and it has been so since 1775. For some reason American politicians, perhaps reflecting the American public's appetite for instant gratification, have grown weary of the fight in Iraq. It's obvious from their public statements which ones among them still carry the fighting spirit of the men and women they so frequently laud, but whom, for the most part, they just do not understand. One thing should never occur: The issue of remaining in a foreign country to fight and die for whatever reason should never be a matter debated by catch phrases. Policy on war may be complicated, but the military men and women who actually fight it can fully understand complex issues and the civilian public certainly must learn to. The fact is that the American citizenry and its political representatives all the way up to whoever is president should always be aware that when they order our warriors into battle, these magnificent men and women will continue on fighting the enemy with which they are faced until they win. And if Congress and any White House wants our military to win, the politicians must make it clear from the beginning the militarily attainable objectives and what they define as victory. Vince Lombardi, who once coached at West Point, would later say his professional teams never lost, but some just ran out of time. For strictly political reasons the American military may be running out of time in Iraq, but they will not have lost, no matter what happens. Our politicians will have lost, and most likely the American public also. There is one thing that all Americans can find solace in without regard to their political leanings. When the time comes again -- and it surely will -- for the U.S. armed forces to protect our shores wherever necessary, they will make proud General George Washington and all who have followed him through the years. Garry Owen, Semper Fi, and Airborne -- All The Way! George H. Wittman is a former Regular Army private, a member of the Committee on the Present Danger, and was the founding chairman of the National Institute for Public Policy. While agreeing with much you say, Habu, it would be hard to have our modern economy without the commerce clause, probably best considered as a 'necessary evil.'

I agree and wouldn't advocate erasing it. But if allowed this metaphor perhaps my thought would be better conveyed. No doubt you or a friend have had a situation where you needed to screw a phillips head screw into some wood. The only screwdriver you have is a straight edge one so you go at it in the manner we all do. Bit by bit the screw is driven deeper but the screw head is being royally , well, screwed and chewed up...ie wrong tool for the job. That is how the commerce clause was used. It's intent was not to enlarge the scope of the Constitutions powers over the states in the mannerin which it was used, but it was used and it did screw things up. Neither it's intent nor scope were used properly, it was simply a tool for a voracious central government to consolidate more power over the states. These Sunni and Shia clerics follow sectarian Islam that relies on hadiths for 95% of its jurisprudence. Hadiths were "compiled" 2 to 3 centuries after the prophet. Each sects have hadiths that refutes the other. The prophet never left behind him any hadiths. The only text the prophet and the 4 caliphs left behind and spread was the Koran.
The Koran gave COMPLETE freedom for anyone. I mean anyone so long as the person does not commit violence. The Quran(Koran) Concerning other monotheist faiths: Not all of them are alike; a party of the people of the Scripture stand for the right, they recite the Verses of God during the hours of the night, prostrating themselves in prayer. They believe in God and the Last Day; they enjoin good and forbid wrong; and they hasten in good works; and they are among the righteous. And whatever good they do, nothing will be rejected of them; for God knows well those who are God fearing. 3:113-115 And there are, certainly, among the people of the Scripture, those who believe in God and in that which has been revealed to you, and in that which has been revealed to them, humbling themselves before God. They do not sell the Verses of God for a little price, for them is a reward with their Lord. Surely, God is Swift in account. 3:199 Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in God and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve . 2:62 Say: "O people of the Scripture : Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but God, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides God. 3:64 And they say: "None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian." Those are their (vain) desires. Say: "Produce your proof if ye are truthful."Nay,-whoever submits His whole self to God and is a doer of good,- He will get his reward with his Lord; on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. The Jews say: "The Christians have naught (to stand) upon; and the Christians say: "The Jews have naught (To stand) upon." Yet they study the (same) Book. Like unto their word is what those say who know not; but God will judge between them in their quarrel on the Day of Judgment. 2.111-113 If any do deeds of righteousness,- be they male or female - and have faith, they will enter Heaven, and not the least injustice will be done to them 4.124 The Quran(Koran) Concerning who we fight or don't: As for such who do not fight you on account of faith, or drive you forth from your homelands, God does not forbid you to show them kindness and to deal with them with equity, for God loves those who act equitably. God only forbids you to turn in friendship towards such as fight against you because of faith and drive you forth from your homelands or aid in driving you forth. As for those from among you who turn towards them for alliance, it is they who are wrongdoers. 60:8-9 Permission (to fight) is given to those against whom war is being wrongfully waged, and verily, God has indeed the power to aid them. Those who have been driven from their homelands in defiance of right for no other reason than their saying, ‘Our Lord is God.’ 22:39-40 The Quran(Koran) Concerning freedom: 2:256 There is no compulsion in religion, for the right way is clearly from the wrong way. Whoever therefore rejects the forces of evil and believes in God, he has taken hold of a support most unfailing, which shall never give way, for God is All Hearing and Knowing. 16:82 But if they turn away from you, your only duty is a clear delivery of the Message . 6:107 Yet if God had so willed, they would not have ascribed Divinity to aught besides Him; hence, We have not made you their keeper, nor are you a guardian over them. 4:79-80 Say:'Whatever good betides you is from God and whatever evil betides you is from your own self and that We have sent you to mankind only as a messenger and all sufficing is God as witness. Whoso obeys the Messenger, he indeed obeys God. And for those who turn away, We have not sent you as a keeper." 11:28 He (Noah) said "O my people! think over it! If I act upon a clear direction from my Lord who has bestowed on me from Himself the Merciful talent of seeing the right way, a way which you cannot see for yourself, does it follow that we can force you to take the right path when you definitely decline to take it?° 17:53-54 And tell my servants that they should speak in a most kindly manner. Verily, Satan is always ready to stir up discord between men; for verily; Satan is mans foe .... Hence, We have not sent you with power to determine their Faith. 21:107-109 (O Prophet?) 'We have not sent you except to be a mercy to all mankind:" Declare, "Verily, what is revealed to me is this, your God is the only One God, so is it not up to you to bow down to Him?' But if they turn away then say, "I have delivered the Truth in a manner clear to one and all, and I know not whether the promised hour is near or far." 22:67 To every people have We appointed ceremonial rites which they observe; therefore, let them not wrangle over this matter with you, but bid them to turn to your Lord. You indeed are rightly guided. But if they still dispute you in this matter, `God best knows what you do." 24.54. Say: "Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger. but if ye turn away, he is only responsible for the duty placed on him and ye for that placed on you. If ye obey him, ye shall be on right guidance. The Messenger's duty is only to preach the clear (Message). 88:21 22; And so, exhort them your task is only to exhort; you cannot compel them to believe. 48:28 He it is Who has sent forth His Messenger with the Guidance and the Religion of Truth, to the end that tie make it prevail over every religion, and none can bear witness to the Truth as God does. 36:16 17 (Three Messengers to their people) Said, "Our Sustainer knows that we have indeed been sent unto you, but we are not bound to more than clearly deliver the Message entrusted to us.' 39:41 Assuredly, We have sent down the Book to you in right form for the good of man. Whoso guided himself by it does so to his own advantage, and whoso turns away from it does so at his own loss. You certainly are not their keeper. 42:6 48 And whoso takes for patrons others besides God, over them does God keep a watch. Mark, you are not a keeper over them. But if they turn aside from you (do not get disheartened), for We have not sent you to be a keeper over them; your task is but to preach .... 64:12 Obey God then and obey the Messenger, but if you turn away (no blame shall attach to our Messenger), for the duty of Our Messenger is just to deliver the message. 67:25 26 And they ask, "When shall the promise be fulfilled if you speak the Truth?" Say, "The knowledge of it is verily with God alone, and verily I am but a plain warner." The Quran(Koran) concerning justice: "And among His signs are the creation of the heaven and earth, and the variation in your language and your colors; verily in that are signs for those who know" (30:22). "Satan seeks only to cast among you enmity and hate"(5:91). O you who believe! Stand out for justice, as witnesses to God, and even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be rich or poor. An-Nisaa’ 4:134 "O you who believe! Be the maintainers of justice and bearers of witness for God's sake though it be against your own self, parents and relatives" (4:135). "O you mankind! We have created you from a single pair of male and female and made you into nations and tribes so that you know each other. Verily the most honored in the sight of God is the one who is most righteous" (49:13). O you who believe! Stand out firmly for God, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety and fear God, for God is well acquainted with all that you do. 5:8 And thus We made of you a justly balanced community that you might bear witness to humankind and the Apostle might bear witness over you. 2:143 O you who believe, observe your duty to God with right observance, and die not except in a state of submission (to Him). And hold fast, all of you together, to the rope of God, and do not separate, and remember God's favor unto you: how you were enemies and He put love between your hearts so that you became as brothers by His grace: and how you were upon the brink of a fire and He saved you from it. Thus God makes clear His revelations unto you so that you may be guided" (3:102-103). "The believers are nothing else other than brothers, Thus make peace between your brethren and observe your duty to God that you may haply receive His mercy" (49: 1 0). The Quran(Koran) Concerning propagation: Invite (all humankind) to the path of your Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation and argue with them in the most kindly manner, for, indeed, your Lord knows best as to who strays from His path, and best who are the right-guided. (16:125) Had your Lord so willed, all those who live on earth would surely have attained faith, will you then compel people, against their will, to believe? 10:99 And We have not sent you, but as mercy to all the worlds. 21:107 Islam is peace! Great video and Bigmo should keep watching it again and again. Islam as practiced by the Islamofascists will never be peace because if Earth ever became ruled by Sharia all the multitudes of Islamic factions that hate each other would keep fighting each other forever.
