Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

I'm getting sick and tired of Made in Chinese stamped on everything I buy.
The press and public use to kick butt when they found out that certain sneakers were made with child labor in Gucamole, or that womens dresses were made in Dahomey. We are currently in the process of buying the rope that well will al swing from. China is a mainsupplieer of guns and armaments to Iran, and then trans shipped to terrorist in Iraq and Venezuela, although one has to admit that US book keepin in Iraq has allowed 100,000 AK-47 to go somewhere, along with tons and tons of ammo......go job Quartermaster Corps. Tires, toothpaste,(don't EVEN go near their prophylactics, which have proven to be pitifullly small anyway). Nope I say it's time for a slow motion ,unofficail poycott of Chinese goods. We don't want to make it a government policy since they hold over a trillion dollars of our debt they could dump sending us into a depression. Just no more lead covered children's chew toys and those three inch prophylactics. "I'm getting sick and tired of Made in Chinese stamped on everything I buy."
Easy fix. If it says "Made in Chinese" on it, don't buy it. With regard to Hillary it must be that well kept secret of how to turn 10k into 100k.Silly me all these years I've wasted my time knocking over liquor stores for chump change.

How disappointed I was to discover that this misunderstood man is facing charges over what is obviously an issue beyond our jurisdiction. If American Indians can have Tribal Councils then this man deserves to be judged under sharia law by a group of under-sharia-law-judgers. In fact if I remember the required course in sharia law recently passed by Harry Reids Senate this man was entitled to bury THAT woman neck deep in a pit and alternatly use a acid filled Super Soaker and rubber bands and paperclip projectiles on her. So he really CUT her some slack. As the late Johnny Cochran would have said, "In America you can't be free-a without sharia" or" If the bitch is just comatose then it was just a joke" Lets have some understanding here folks, after all he used the finest Wusthof Steel cutlery, and he did step over her bleeding body to attend to the baby...obviously he did it for the child. TODAY IS VJ DAY HAPPY VJ DAY
I am sure the MF staff is already to go to the blog with this big juicy story but since thay missed the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki I just thought I'd mention it For those too young to remember VJ Day means Victory Over Japan in World War II (the double I's being the Roman numeral for two{2}. Here is a short write us courtesy of History.com. 1945 : The Japanese emperor speaks ( this was THE first time th Japs, excuse me, the Japanese had ever heard their emperors voice) On this day in 1945, Emperor Hirohito broadcasts the news of Japan's surrender to the Japanese people. Although Tokyo had already communicated to the Allies its acceptance of the surrender terms of the Potsdam Conference several days earlier, and a Japanese news service announcement had been made to that effect, the Japanese people were still waiting to hear an authoritative voice speak the unspeakable: that Japan had been defeated. That voice was the emperor's. In Japan's Shinto religious tradition, the emperor was also divine; his voice was the voice of a god. And on August 15, that voice-heard over the radio airwaves for the very first time--confessed that Japan's enemy "has begun to employ a most cruel bomb, the power of which to do damage is indeed incalculable, taking the toll of many innocent lives." This was the reason given for Japan's surrender. Hirohito's oral memoirs, published and translated after the war, evidence the emperor's fear at the time that "the Japanese race will be destroyed if the war continues." A sticking point in the Japanese surrender terms had been Hirohito's status as emperor. Tokyo wanted the emperor's status protected; the Allies wanted no preconditions. There was a compromise. The emperor retained his title; Gen. Douglas MacArthur believed his at least ceremonial presence would be a stabilizing influence in postwar Japan. But Hirohito was forced to disclaim his divine status. Japan lost more than a war-it lost a god. IMMEDIATE ALERT TO ALL OUTDOOR POT GROWERS
U.S. to Expand Domestic Use Of Spy Satellites By ROBERT BLOCK August 15, 2007; Page A1 The U.S.'s top intelligence official has greatly expanded the range of federal and local authorities who can get access to information from the nation's vast network of spy satellites in the U.S. The decision, made three months ago by Director of National Intelligence Michael McConnell, places for the first time some of the U.S.'s most powerful intelligence-gathering tools at the disposal of domestic security officials. The move was authorized in a May 25 memo sent to Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff asking his department to facilitate access to the spy network on behalf of civilian agencies More at WSJ man, that sailboat illos is outstanding. the dignity of the sailing ship.
