We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

The best test of your tolerance is whether you can tolerate my intolerance.

Dr. Joy Bliss, who is in Maine this month - a crusty old state where nobody tolerates anybody and where nobody ever says "Have a nice day." In Maine, the correct response to "Have a nice day" is "Don't tell me what kind of day to have."

you mean, "Bob Dylan music". A complete boxed set of Bob Dylan would have to be kept in the freezer else it would spoil terribly in a matter on days (or hours if left out in the sun in August).

It was my understanding that the boxed set only came in the already spoiled state. I was going to use it on my noxious weeds to kill them.

Yes fellow Socialists, come to Maine. I am proud of our Socialist heritage in Maine, being the only openly Socialist Senator in the U.S. Senate.

And don't forget that Radio Free Maine is sponsoring the 26th Annual Socialist meeting.

If you prefer you can visit Bowdoin College or the town of Standish both sponsoring Socialist home town get togethers.

So if you like Socialism, you'll love Maine.

My father was in both Hiroshima and Nagasaki shortly after the atomic bombings.
He said he was horrified by the devistation and only wished he'd brought more than one case of Aloe Vera gel.
He made a fortune.

You guys are hard-hearted, I think. In Truman's shoes, I would have done the same thing - but not happily. Total war is a sad, ugly thing. Most of the people who died were as innocent of war as the folks in the WTC.
