Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Get 'em on sale!

The big sale is on until the end of August.

Long-time readers know how much we all love the Teaching Company. It's one of the ways we all try to continue to learn. But it's much more fun than school, because no single school could contain so many suberb and enthusiastic communicators - plus no tests or term papers. We use the CDs in the car and while working out.

I cannot praise these people enough. Look through their catalog to find the gaping holes in your education. In my family, we trade them around, but we only buy them during the sales.

My wife and I have used this company often.
Last year my wife went on an equestrian tour of the Tuscany region of Italy. I insisted she get the History of the Roman Empire, which she did and watched! All 9 million hours!
Upon her return after extending the initial two weeks into six she thanked me for my insisting she get the DVD's so she would know what she was going to see. She ended up all over Italy!! It always makes the experience much richer.

The Teaching Company is really tops!
