We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Voinovich, if judged by this interview is an idiot.
The fact remains that it is OUR responsibility in '08 to turn these guys out of office.
This is simply another example of our gov'ment being run by the lowest common denominator ...the career politician.
Hell, the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee couldn't tell Shia from Shiite, didn't know anything about Islam or the Koran.....these people are directing our lives, they're making the big decisions, taking our money, redistributing it and treating us like vassals, which many of us gladly accept...We the Sheeple.
I agree that we should throw the bum's out in '08, but whom do we replace them with, a Democrat. We have to replace these out of control Republicans with other Republicans or posibly with third party challengers. Power politics would prevent challenges to these incumbent Republicans.
I read somewhere recently that our choices today are between the stupid party and the evil party. Given that choice stupid would have to win out over evil, but I'm getting sick and tired of holding my nose when I vote.
Sean I couldn't agree more. Someone could make a fortune handing out nose gay on election day.
Throw the Republicans out and yes replace them with new Republicans who will by virtue of seeing a massive regurgitation of the seated gods of power who currently rule us, will listen more attentively.
Right now both parties have it rigged to groom candidates. We need to upset the party by electing an underdog that hasn't been fully endorsed by "the Party" but is still a party member.
We have to try something. We the People are loosing a grip on OUR public servants.
Time for my favorite quote.
"America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards. On the road to tyranny, we've gone so far that polite political action is about as useless as a miniskirt in a convent."

Got a letter in the mail from the Republican's asking for money the other day. They were wondering if I abandoned them since I haven't donated since the '04 elections. I wrote on their donation card: " You lost me on amnesty ".
I think if the money stops flowing in they may get the hint that we are not abandoning them, but they are abandoning us.
Like Reagan said: " I didn't leave the Democrat Party, they left me ".
Interesting article. We should see more like it. Some real good may come of this situation.
