Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Yon's battle report today

Surrender or die. Exciting. I'd like to be in Michael Yon's shoes, but I could not fill them: he is a retired SEAL.

It sounds like there is a major problem with Iraqi laziness and incompetence, but that isn't news.

Al Quaida's plan is to outlast American defeatists. America's plan is to kill them first. Encircle and enclose them.

Also, WaPo filed a report from Patrol Base Murray. The press is realizing that the real battle for Iraq is finally underway.

The WaPo article was exciting. That is, in its encouraging reporting of how the surge is manifesting. I feel like cheering despite the on-going hassles.

The libs must be sick over it. Iran sure is as it's broadening its meddling into Kuwait and the Kuwait ambassador in Tehran. How busy they are scheming and spreading the luxury of Islam.
Someone needs to hand them a time-out.
