We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Banging around Yankeeland in the rain all day, and ended up driving through a hailstorm like I have never seen in New England. It looked as if it had snowed, or as if God had dumped his largest box of mothballs on us.
There's a herd of Black Angus in the distance on this farm in beautiful Litchfield County. Taking photos in the rain is evidently not my thing.
My stepfather (of several) raised Black Angus. He had a bull, named "Buddy". I liked that bull. Used to place my head against his, and have pushing contests. His almost 2 thousand pounds eventually won out of course. But he was most playful in doing so. He ended in the freezer of course. Poor Buddy.
Sunday's editionof the New York Times reports that American and Iraqi forces have begun a major offensive against AQ.
We want people to know that as far as we know there is no truth to the rumor that Holloween type masks of Senator Reid were not dropped into AQ strongholds with the promise that wearing them would spare them. Iraqi troops are reported to be "gathering" large numbers of "masks" with extra ventilation holes in them.
We also want to let the public know that the Senator is not against the troops, he's just for the AQ. He's not against our generals he just thinks they're stupid. He's not against freedom he just doesn't want to have to do anything for it.
Herr Reid Fan Club Bulletin
I have this little problem--I REALLY do prefer cattle herds of mixed color! Don't know why that is. I like to see a field of cows that includes, Angus, Herefords, Charoloais, etc. I cannot honestly say that is true anywhere else in my way of thinking--I prefer pedigreed dogs and horses. Its just those dang cows. When I drive by a range there is something so wonderful about having a mixed herd!
Now, about Senator Reid: I have to say that I hate male "cows". They are useless!!!
