Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

I'm sorry. I could not watch the whole video. I'm just sick of this whole damn mess. We're dragging anchor, this country. Hoping for a safe haven. Not controlling our destiny, but being lead by events. Becoming mesmerized by translations of the real by our media. Choosing partisan sides over issues of national security. No longer a country in some ways. The plans put in place decades ago finally realizing fruition. Lenin must be spinning 10K RPM in his grave, knowing our defeat, everything according to plan.

Just occurred, I want an honest fricking actor, someone with the oratory that may be our best last hope. Common sense and facts no longer having an effect. Otherwise we tread the path of killing ourselves.

Well, I wasn't going to watch, but because of your comments, I had to. I made it about 40 seconds. The sanctimony in his voice....whoa.

It's painful to note how when I defended Bush on all fronts, I excused his inabilities as a speaker. Now I see his oratorical shortcomings clearly. How amazing it is to have someone who can speak well and who can make people listen and fill up with pride. That sure isn't Bush. I've known it all along, but I excused it. I think that's a huge part of why people get so rabid about him. Let's just get someone who can talk and turn heads when he does it. As long as he's a conservative (neocon) who likes to blow things up and build walls, of course.
