We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
An architect friend recently designed this molding, called Rolling Wave. I like it. I guess it can be made in whatever size you want. Amazing the way they can translate a design into a plaster molding, but it has been done for a long time. Useful skills. And such fine custom things cost less than one might think.
That is neat molding, it reminds me (ok Maggie Folk's please finish filling in another 800 words on what I might have been reminded of, I'm gett'n a bit sick of hearing myself)...and then the train left and I never saw her again.
I'm sure there must be a socialist influence in there somewhere :-) emphasis on the smile Habu.
Plaster mold is not that hard to do, a replicative pattern, pounded out of lead in the old days, and you're all set (s*** no pun intended). It is the design where the art lives. Good job re that respect. Though I'm thinking the 45 could use a little work.
LM..got the note..never thought of you otherwise. In fact it is a much better psychology to begin with even if you have all the skills to "make" it a person needs your frame of mind to succeed.
I never really examined my personal psychology with regard to persevering since I was raised by a very accomplished man and woman who never thought of an outcome being other than what their force of will, brains , and hard work, could produce, which was always, "Hey we're gonna win this"
Of course no one wins them all but the winners are the ones who keep getting back into the arena and stay at it.
I have a good friend from Lookout Mountain, Tn. who when he heard someone say "I can't do that" he would look at them and say in his Southern manner, "You know, the can'ts never could" It's true.
"LM..got the note..never thought of you otherwise." Would I be remiss in not desiring further explanation? Or, should I take the statement at face value? H., your sense of superiority will not outlive you. This country has not survived by individual effort, though that has been (at times) a major part of it. But it has survived as group, unit, squad level perseverance. Not articulate enough to explain that further at the present moment. I respect you H. You're smart, experienced and a man of the world. But at times you can be a tad condescending. And I admit, that condescension can be a good thing on occasion. Though I think only a lowly grunt can appreciate your thought at times.
Buddy, maybe that 45 is the art, design and production wise? Just short maybe?
Yeah, a brandy post. So what. Sometimes its the only way. Attack my words, not me.
LM..I apologize for any miscommunication..I was honoring your mental outlook as superior to mine in that I had never really examined mine. I should have for as Plato said "The unexamined life isnot worth living"... no all was suppose to be complimentry..sorry for any garbled message.
