We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
A reader sent in these nice rattlers caught outside Kingsville, TX., near the natural gas plant. I hope they are planning on eating them...or at least making a belt out of the skin.
In Australia came alarmingly close to one of those ugly black ones they've got--makes good ol Ameican rattlers seem not quite soooo nasty! Although, I still believe as the gentlemen in the photo do--the only good snake is a dead snake. Any little varmint in the field that they help to keep population stabilized--well, I can do that with my.22
Thanks for relieving this world of 3 more of those s.o.b.sf!!
Oh, I was just kidding --haven't been in Kingsville in years n years. Not entirely sure those snakes are dead, either --esp the one on the left in the pic. Rattles seem curled upward.
