Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

In support of Chavez

I guess there are people - even in America - who value some things more highly than the freedom of the individual mind, soul and spirit. It's a shame.

What does one expect from the Left--objective analysis? Chavez is a hero as was Mugabe to a point, Castro even in his torture chambers, the Iranian mullahs, little Kim in North Korea, and such past stellar lights like Stalin, Mao, Lenin, Pol Pot and every other deranged, psychopathic genocidist who hated the United States, Judeo-Christianity, and any semblance of freedom.

These folks have been cranking out the same tired propaganda for well over a century--always appearing to be on the side of truth and justice as long as it is buried six feet under ground. Mostly they preach to their large choir but, now and then, some decent folk get banboozled into believing these expressions of Left hallucinations. And they influence the Soros-Kennedy-Clinton branch of the Democratic Party.

Nah, NJ. It is more complex now. In my pre 9/11 days I tuned Reagan out completely. I perhaps flatter myself, though I do not mean too. But it is the post 9/11 folks that need persuasion. It is not normal politics for me, what's going on. The war is what's going on for me. Lose it, lose all. I am a swing voter, with one interest only. Who will better defend this country? And, just to clarify, I am not talking 'tank to tank', but exposition of ideals, aspirations and certainty of course/direction. IOW's a leader/speaker able to unite. Yes, Reagan articulated some of that, but he did not unite, in the end. I admit this may be an impossible task.

These people scare me. They can't be reasoned with. When or if they get what they want they will be the first to go. Just like all the idealists that bit the dust when Lenin and Stalin took over Russia.
There may really become a time when we normal freedom loving sane people will have to fight to save our country from within.
