We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I am kind of hoping this is the end of the industry. With no "free" tv to watch, would cable and satellite sink or swim?
hopefully poor people will tune out and not be so brainwashed and time wasted. Unfortunately poor people are the ones with every gee-gaw you can imagine, so DTV is a priority for status retention.
logically then, TV will be for the great unwashed, and the educated (busy) will gradually leave the experiment behind.
Interesting. I suspect that TV, like MacDonalds, is gradually becoming the haven for the poor and the uneducated. Truth be told - I have no TV at the farm.
