We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Yes, that's what such plants were always called when I was growing up in the Texas Coastal Bend, where shrimping is big business. Usually, they are a deep, coral color, making them look even more like shrimp. Fortunately, they don't smell like shrimp! :)
OK. Cool. I just figured that at an orchid show there'd be orchids. Never dawned on me they'd have other stuff.
These things grow like crazy down here in Florida. They like a little shade from the hot afternoon son. Their cousin, the regular shrimp plant, looks almost identical but is ....... shrimp colored. Who'd a thunk it? :-)
It's like dying and walking into Heaven going there-the orchids "planted" amongst their regular stuff. wanted to take pictures in what little time I had..fun later to figure out what they all were...
