We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I have not seen one episode. In the course of my daily life in academia, I have to confront all the corruption, all the bullying, all the intimidation that one can stand in one lifetime. NO THANK YOU!
I believe that supporting programs such as the Sopranos, one is helping to make that type of behavior more acceptable. Perhaps, not in your own family, but in the families of those less fortunate, less worldy, less educated. We should not give that behavior any indication that it is acceptable. Sorry.
No wife, no kids yet. Just me and a can of beer. I have known people like those Sopranos, and they have it down pretty accurately. It's great TV, and a heck of a negative moral lesson - and an education in sociopathy.
