We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
In Memphis, we have a city councilman, Edmund Ford (yes, he's Harold Jr's uncle) who has a situation with his power bills. He has some sweetheart deal with the utility company. Maybe that's how Edwards has such low power bills?
That's the only reason I can think of -- my 1200 sf house alone costs almost $200/month to heat and water and that's keeping it at 55.
The aurora borealis and solar storms are more interesting to me than Algores global warming and the Northern Lights are amazing to watch.
Here is one legend....
The Valkyrior are warlike virgins, mounted upon horses and armed with helmets and spears. When they ride forth on their errand, their armour sheds a strange flickering light, which flashes up over the northern skies, making what men call the "aurora borealis", or "Northern Lights".
Folk lore also has said that if you whistle and sing to the aurora it will come down and take you.
I know a few people who claim they have whistled down the Northern Lights. They did not get taken anywhere but they say the electricity crackling around them was audible.
