From the moment the NCLB law was passed,and from even before it became law, the unions have been mounting their campaign against the law. From the beginning they have pushed teacher to such a hatred of the act by forcing them into unnecessary paper work requirements(state initiated)by forcing teachers to lie for to be made to feel that they are not team players. Someone, in education and politics should really do a dissertation on the organized political onslaught against this simple little effort to keep the bar from resting on the floor for an easy step over. If this act had been followed in good faith by teachers in every state some positive move toward improving our schools would have happened. But, the liberals would rather destroy our children than give acknowledgment to the fact that their unions, their demands for funding, their new educational policies of "non-meritocracy" have already destroyed our education system. Just go to a classroom where there are students from India, Japan, Korea who have just arrived--you will be stunned at what we have lost!
