Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

I'd hate to be Pervez Musharraf

There is no way this dictator can please both�his US sponsors�and his radicalized population. Yet he must. How can he walk that tightrope, with Taliban armies gathering in the north, and bomb attempts on Cheney?

Only one solution: NATO forces attack the camps, and Musharraf screams about it.

I am utterly surprised that he has lasted this long. There have putatively been over a dozen assassination attempts, and how he has escaped his own ISI which is pro Taliban is nothing short than Ian Fleming tradecraft.

One thing is for sure. The man is not a coward.

He must be a very smooth operator. On camera he looks like a nice, low-key guy - I bet it's a different story offstage. While it is a shame that Pakistan�s democracy is gone, the alternative (nuclear armed Islamics) is so horrible, you have to rote for the guy.

Yep - let the Coalition attack the camps and pretend it's not happening. We will, after all, be killing the worst threat to his regime. He'll probably be feeding us their locations under the table.
