Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Buddy,
Went back to visit our Scottish friends last night in the wee hours. It was predicated on the new Unicef report stating that Scottish children were the unhappiest in the world!!

That was of course was another stick just laying on the ground near the wasp's nest. I got an entirely new flight of wasps this time along with some ostensibly American socialist that took up there cause. Had one American from Santa Barbara who was your typical American hater.

We joisted for about an hour or two then I called it a night. I really didn't realize Scotland was in such poor shape but from the comments, both from Scots and Brits it's impoverished and yet they want independence.

Shame on me.

I can't help but feel sorry for those folks--the folks from your previous patrol (haven't read the new one--link?). Imagine having invested your whole political life in the intellectual equivalent of those theatrical stage plays Mao used to put on. You know, the ones with the rosy-cheeked Young Communists slaying the running dogs.

Gotta be tough rationalizing the counterfactuals, if you're someone smart enough to write--which they obviously are.

They need pre-frontal lobotomies (unlike the Irishman, who just wants a "free bottle in front of me").

I wish Vaclav Klaus and John Howard were running in OUR election. I really do--no shet. I is HONGRY for some honest straight talk. I like GWB a lot, but rhetorically he's taken equanimity about as far as it needs to go--it's entering the realm of diminishing returns.

Also the C.O.R.E. work was done as a REQUIREMENT for a course I was taking in the then new area of Black history. But I did it and it taught me a good deal.
Don't take any more Black study courses.

Ha--good thread but looong, couldn't finish. Saved it, tho, will enjoy it later. Eyeballing (MU) at the moment, seeing if it's time to buy a li'l bit. Had two hot tips a week ago,(AA) and (MU). Ignored both, and yesterday (AA) got the big bid rumor and rose a bunch. So now I'm glued on the (MU). Got one more runt to put through collich, (sweat pant pant sweat pantpant).

There is a real urgency for a large world body, administered by the UN and Fwance, to do a drastic intervention on the worlds energy markets, or else climate injustice will take a terrible, terrible toll. /s
