Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Blog under attack


Maggie's Farm has been under attack. Slows us down a bit, damages commenting function. Trying to find out where it's from. Who would want to bother us? We will find out...and will punish them.

Chris is on the job - a Vermonter and a real Green Mountain boy - and we are all Yankees here. Don't tread on us unless you are willing to pay the price: we enjoy self-defence: we are well-armed, and love to use our weapons.

We ARE the embodiment of the 1870's-1900 West.

We are High Noon and the Lone Ranger. We are Hoot Gibson,Tom Mix, Bob Steele,Gene Autry,Wyatt Earp,Doc Holiday,and dare I say the Apple Dumpling gang...we are a shot of whiskey and a charoot. We are Tom Selleck, John Wayne,Ben Johnson and Henry Fonda. We are Gregory Peck and Burl Ives (Big Country, great flick)...

We are Blazing Saddles and Lonesome Dove..(cue the Marty Robbins music). We are Big Iron.

Ok now a big ending with some Ted Nugent volume on Slim Whitman's greatest hits.

So you just rest easy. And if'n we get surrounded by bad guys we'll make sure all you women folk are all huddle up in a bunch before we all ride off for more help.

A Botnet attack. Mainly from somewhere in China, it appears.

No idea. Blue Crab Blvd. has been having the same issue. But nobody has the expertise we have in Chris, behind the curtain. He sees all. Glad we don't have one of those commercial blog sites.
