We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

"How the Democrats Blew This Election"
I am not ready to believe that the Democrats won't steal this election too. So I don't embrace the premise. But, there is an elephant in the room that the media and most people refuse to talk about. The Democrat party has literally been taken over by communist. If you asked any prominent Democrat to list his top domestic policy goals and compared them with classic communist goals there would be little in any difference.
Part of the problem is back in the early 60's the Democrats openly embraced a policy of division by race and welfare as a sure fire method of getting elected for the next 100 years (their words, not mine). Over the last 60 years this agenda has morphed somewhat, "welfare" has been redefined and expanded and "race" has also been expanded to include every minority group that could be tweaked/tricked into trading free stuff for freedom. Also the Democrat party purged honest, American loving politicians and replaced them with far left puppets who would toe the line and vote en bloc for whatever the puppet masters demanded.
It is now at the point where a dispassionate evaluation of the Democrat party platform and their actual statements and actions would have to conclude that they are or lean communist. I don't mean this in some wild conspiracy of Soviet or Chinese spies sneaking into power and compelling Democrats to be communists. I mean that over the last 60 years their decision to use division, chaos, welfare and corruption of the MSM to acquire and maintain power has pushed them into embracing and using communist methods and policies to accomplish this.
I do not think that the Democrats can be pulled back into a belief in democracy, honesty and support of the constitution at this point. They have gone past the point of return. I don't mean the rank and file Democrat voters as most of them are simply brainwashed and only hear the propaganda message and ignore the facts. But, that too is consistent with a communist movement, i.e. to tell the people what they want to hear, promise them free stuff at the expense of the elite and all the while using them to stay in power and hiding the agenda under chaos and crisis.
This is where we are. I don't see any way back to a constitutional republic. As soon as Democrats acquire the white house and congress they will finish the take over of the Supreme court. At that point we are finished.
I also believe there will be election-day shenanigans by the Democrats, as this has become their identity, and the general expectation.
Trumps MSG event reminded me a lot of the national conventions, or at least the way they used to be. I haven't watched one in years, so I don't know what they've morphed into, now. But his was certainly a Big Tent message.
