There are surely many who have changed to the view that Kamala is an amazing person. But from things I hear from people, that's not it.

To me, Kamala is truly cringe. Embarassing. That's obvious to everybody but I do not vote against her (I am no Trumper, but he is my choice). But that doesn't matter much. Kamala voters are voting for the Dem/government machine, and against Orange Bad Man who many people feel is cringy in his own way.

Kamala voters know that presidents do not run the country, much less run the federal government. Yes, they do have a phone and a pen, and a bully pulpit. Yes, they do control the State Dept and the Justice Dept and the War Dept, but government is too big - it's its own animal. Obama and Trump both bitched about that, but it is supposed to be that way.

I agree that "Kamala voters are voting for the Dem/government machine." Although the motives will differ. Some will expect greater government "benefits." Some will see a "progressive" hand on the tiller.

I disagree, though, that "it is supposed to be that way." Obviously, the Founders did not anticipate a federal government with its intrusion in everyday life. OTOH, the President was expected to be the Chief Executive in charge of things. Is Biden in charge of things? Was Trump in charge of things when he wanted to get out of Syria and the military lied to him?

Emphatically, no. The Constitution allocates the Executive power, ALL executive power, to a single person--the President. Congressional attempts to wrestle that power away from the President and reallocate it to career bureaucrats are unconstitutional. I am confident that the Supreme Court will rule this way when Trump starts firing government employees.

Harris voters do not know that the president doesn't run the country. I would say the opposite.

I would also disagree that it's supposed to be that way. I would say the opposite.

Yes, it is supposed to be that way - Big Government. Not designed that way by the founders of the country. And big government runs counter to the guarantees of the Constitution: a republican form of government. One hundred plus years of leftist progressive policies, have gotten us to this period in history. Big government got a kickstart under Wilson, and was accelerated out of control by FDR. The Rosevelt dynasty, ingrained in the American consciousness the idea of government as sugar daddy.

Most of us know how to break the cycle. Very few have the political backbone to make it happen. Until we at least break the monopoly that Marxists have on educating the children, we don’t stand a snowball’s chance in hades.

Wilson actually thought an 'expert' class was the solution to government. As an academic, surrounded by his favorite type of expert, he never understood anything the founding fathers warned us about. FDR just continued on this marxist road to ruin with an assist by LBJ. Utopia must be around the very next corner.
Fire the admin state, they're dangerous.

It is all about money and power. Free stuff for every identity group and money and power for every union member. And then there is the enormous entourage of hangers on who benefit from the sprinkling of tax money. But for about half the country; the working families, the middle class and white males, they are the golden goose. The goose has been squeezed too much and the goose is pissed.

But it will all end when they run out of other people's money. In truth they have run out already but they are using the printing presses to keep the golden eggs popping out. THIS will make the coming fiscal reality crash so much worse, Great Depression 2.0 may last a decade or two and our politicians will be clueless of how to fix it. We will experience a Zimbabwe-Venezuela economy on steroids. There is no way out of it just the unanswered question of when.

STRONGLY disagree, and the Founders disagreed as well. The Constitution prescribes a SMALL Federal government that governs the reactions BETWEEN the States.

The Constitution does not have any provision allowing for a federalized police force, or a Federalized school system, or Federal management of health care, or welfare, so the FBI and the ATF and the Department of Education must all be abolished.

95% of Federal law is unconstitutional.

AND THAT’S ALL!!!

Further, all laws are supposed to be written by Congress, in the Legislative branch. Nothing in any law gives agencies in the EXECUTIVE branch to usurp Congressional powers and prerogatives, nor is there any provision of the Constitution allowing Congress to DELEGATE legislative powers to the Executive branch.

The Constitution describes only one crime, treason, and one penalty, death. Whether you think abortion is health care or you believe that abortion is murder, the Constitution gives Congress NO AUTHORITY over it; it's a STATE matter. Theft and murder are not Federal crimes; they are STATE crimes. We would do very well to repeal every law passed since 1910, most especially including the 16th through 19th Amendments. (The 18th, Prohibition, was repealed in 1933, and all the rest SHOULD be.)
