Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

'The Freedom to Offend - In 2006, Christopher Hitchens gave a brave, ‘blasphemous’ speech on Islam that resonates with even greater power today.'
I think anyone with an IQ to the north of room temperature can see that Islam is problematic. "Is gender real?"
No, it's a social construction and therefore imaginary. I have asked on numerous occasions, what is the physical basis of gender, and nobody will answer. There are two genders and only two genders. However their are many, perhaps a hundred or more, forms of mental illness.
Actually, OneGuy, in grammar there are three genders: masculine, feminine, and neutral. Think the French expression "..on dit." which is neither masculine nor feminine..
Bright non-natural colored hair, excessive body piercings are markers of gender
OR, they're markers of toxic properties. In nature, bright colors often signify "Danger, do not touch!"
"“We’re all kind of disappointed with what happened. It wasn’t a political event,” Ansbro told The Post Sunday. “Letitia James has always been a friend of the UFA. “This was disappointing. It was in a church. It’s not the place for it.”
Ha ha ha, welcome to the new rules, created by You ! The 'church' setting became a political event with the appearance if a self-aggrandizing political figure making a political appearance - even if it isn't strictly a political event. I understand they are now backing down from the pursuit of the 'wrongdoers' and even from the 're-education' bluster, thanks to the vigorous nature of the backlash. Calling 'Bullsh*t !' works, when you make it loud enough. So is it “birthing parent” or “woman/ women”? Tired of trying to elevate one class over women through language changes.
^^^^ THIS
I notice, though, that the piece still refers to "mothers" rather than "parenting people" (or whatever the new term is supposed to be). So apparently, "trans-men" who give birth are still "mothers" rather than "fathers". Amigos, if you can grow a baby inside your body, then push that baby out into the world through your genitals, you are MOST DEFINITELY a woman. re On Thursday, James Crumbley, the father of mass school shooter Ethan Crumbley, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
related: The Michigan Verdict Is "Groundbreaking" as in Burying the Law QUOTE: So, how did they claim the Crumbleys violated the involuntary manslaughter statute? They did it by applying the legal standards of civil law to criminal law. Understand that it is not legal to do so. https://mises.org/power-market/michigan-verdict-groundbreaking-burying-law Could not possibly have anything to do with the Crumbleys being white.
Or could it? "American manufacturing is not doing just fine, actually."
And because of this neither is America. The government should take steps to insure that all of our necessities are or could be manufactured within our 50 states. One simple way would be to just require it, phase it in over a four year period. All of our electronics, medicines, food, cars, trucks, energy, etc. made within the USA by companies owned and operated by U.S. citizens who live in the USA. That's not so hard. We could still buy foreign made products as long as we met two requirements: 1 That most of that product IS made here, perhaps 75%. 2. That the infrastructure is in place and operable to make 100% within the U.S. at a moments notice. Why wouldn't we want to do that? Why would we want to be in a position where we are dependent on China for drugs or electronics? Unless of course China was illegally giving our politicians bribes to allow that to happen. If you want the absolute necessities made in America then apply a tariff.
Do notice that they never apply 'environmental' tariffs to Chinese products. Do we want free trade or fair trade? There are many problems with tariffs. We had tariffs on Chinese goods and they were removed quickly and easily. What we need is to understand that it is essential for our survival that we can produce everything ourselves. Make no mistake China WILL cut us off the second they believe that they can win a war with us and we will lose if for no other reason than that we cannot resupply our military and our essential workers.
It is likely so economically inefficient to manufacture all of our necessities in country that it is either impossible or would be debilitating to the country to do so. Partly because our labor is too costly to do a lot of manufacturing. (Differentiated labor costs are vital to produce many consumer goods). Partly because the USA is such a large consumer of goods. What we can do, and are doing, is near shoring and friend shoring, much of our consumption in combination with reshoring some production. Furthermore, I want countries that can be reliable allies, like Mexico, Columbia, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines to prosper. Because it makes us, them and the world better.
Of course we can do it. Why would you believe we couldn't. The ONLY reason we manufacture things overseas is profit. Not cost, although that is a factor it is profit. Nike makes 1000% profit on it's Chinese made sneakers, if "cost" was a problem they could easily lower the price but they don't need to because Americans can afford the cost. If they made them in the U.S. they would only make 100% profit and be able to sell them at the same price. There is literally nothing that cannot be made in the U.S. and to give our future to China was always a mistake that is going to bite us. Smart honest leaders would never have allowed it. So take your pick, our leaders are either stupid or have sold us out or both. I think Obama sold us out and Biden is just the puppet continuing the grift. My fear is that it cannot be fixed because we are in too deep and even if we were to require everything be manufactured in the U.S. China would use that as a pretense to shut us down. It may be too late to fix it, but never the less we should try.
As an American expat in an tiny country (Israel):
1. I see no reason why America cannot provide all its own raw materials and manufactured goods. We basically did that post WWII. The Republicans had us in line to be energy independent. And we are still feeding much of the world. 2. I see no reason why anyone would buy American-made goods in a free market when cheaper products are available. The progress in communications and transport are not going away. It's nice for OneGuy to imagine manufacturing diktats, but it is not sustainable. There are two ways to level the field: Tariffs Eliminate wage and price controls Germany maintains a manufacturing base within a managed economy - but even they farm out much manufacturing to Eastern Europe where labor is cheaper. I am not convinced that the gap between the programmers and the manual workers is larger than the gap between the industrialists and the manual workers.... however the Left has successfully used this perception to revive their class warfare agenda. While simultaneously destroying the American family, and establishing an immoveable welfare state... So fewer and fewer people are willing/independent enough to bet that a truly free market will raise everyone's standard of living. I believe it is true - but most Americans will no longer vote for it. "manufacturing diktats" "Diktats was a word selected to insult and slap down. Ok, you do you.
We must be able to make the necessities within our own country. You would be a fool to think the world is a safe place. China is at war with us and we are blind to it. When it becomes a kinetic war they will shut down all of the things that they now provide/sell to us and it will kill tens perhaps hundreds of thousands of us AND probably be the single biggest factor in us losing the war. China will not be a gentle ruler they will occupy and kill us ruthlessly. And YOU worry that if we try to become self sufficient maybe some of us won't be able to afford $300 Nikes or $2000 iPhone. Perhaps you're just young and have no real experience, perhaps you're naive and believe Xi when he lies to you. Maybe you think you can ignore reality and if you just close your eyes and wish hard enough everything will be OK. Good luck. Reality is going to bite you in the ass. It's coming, make no mistake, WW III is coming and we have screwed up so bad that it may well be impossible to turn it around to the point where we have an even chance of surviving it as a nation and individuals. Understand this one point that drives everything: War with China is inevitable. They will precipitate it and they will destroy as much as they can in a first strike. My point ISN'T about preventing WW III, it's coming either way. We must begin to prepare for it, we MUST. An yet it is likely that as soon as China sees that we are trying to wean ourself off their teat they will attack. Make no mistake, most Americans and Canadians will die in a nuclear war with China and their allies, Many in the first few days and most in the next 6 months. Most Chinese, especially the military and the workers, will survive nuclear war because they have planned and prepared to do exactly that. and THAT is why they are unafraid to start a nuclear war. And all your thoughts and prayers will do nothing... nothing!

What about Canada? Though I would agree our current Prime Minister and government cannot be considered reliable by any standard.
Canada has been invaded. Canada has probably tens of thousands of Chinese CCP members, many of who hold an active duty rank in the Chinese military. The same is true for Australia and the U.S. They are in country, they have identified targets and they will destroy our countries from within. Trudeau is a traitor, a stupid, greedy traitor, but a traitor to his country never the less. Poilievre is your only hope.
South Africa is looking to hire a few white guys because their water treatment plants aren't working and the South African witch doctors aren't able to dance enough to make them work. Even though, thanks to no tests, class attendance or homework requirements, most black South Africans do graduate from grade school none of them can read and none of them want to work so South Africa needs a few white guys to figure out which way to turn the faucet. Of course the safety of these white men isn't guaranteed because we all know that they are white supremacist.
Bloodbath Follow the link. Listen to history’s greatest hypocrites, liars and enemy of people, proving that it’s different when they do it.
Remember when it was oh so brave, to speak truth to power. It was the highest form of patriotism to be deesentful. March in the streets . Burn. Loot. Pillage. Confront politicians where ever you find them. Yell and scream at them. Be it in restaurants, on the street or in the halls of Congress. Illegally protest in front of Supreme Court justices homes. Have a sitting senator tell those Supreme Court justices that they will reap the whirlwind. Threaten everyone that doesn’t agree with you. Ahh, the halcyon days when republicans were in charge. Ban people. Censor people. Cancel people. “It was a church. Not the place for it.” What garbage. What pure Marxism. Tell that to St. Patrick’s cathedral. Why are not 90% of people, sick to death of these lefty destroyers of civilization? "Why are not 90% of people, sick to death of these lefty destroyers of civilization?"
Couple of reasons I can think of... 1. A lot of people normally don't pay all that much attention to politics until it affects them, and then they'll look for the first credible explanation for it. Depending on who's shouting the loudest, that's usually the destroyers. And even if a feeling of "Well, that ain't right" hits, it's hard for them to find new sources. 2. The destroyers HAD the upper hand for a long time, setting both the topics and the approved venues for the conversation. And the idea that they were doing so was ridiculed - "Well, there's no dissenting voices! We're so right there's nobody who can stand against us!" - so people just didn't hear opposing voices. Then Musk bought Twitter and it was amazing how the formerly unopposed narratives are getting a whole lot of extremely passionate and accurate blowback. 3. You can only tell people that things are really really absolutely wonderful for so long before they start going "You know, I think you're lying through your teeth on that." And they won't be voting for those they realize have lied to them. I was with some friends this weekend - we do talk politics, we're good enough friends that we agree to disagree. Some who have been passionately 'liberal' in the past are going "You know, I can't stand Trump's mannerisms, but I'll be damned if I'm going to vote for Biden again." They pay attention and they really don't like what they see. It'll be an interesting election, in all the worst connotations of 'interesting'. Hertz CEO Resigns After Blowing Big Gamble on EVs
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/03/hertz-ceo-resigns-blowing-big-gamble-evs/ It's one of those situations where 'Yeah, it sounded like a good idea at the time'. The thing with EVs is that there had to be a LOT of things coming together at one time to make it work well - and they didn't.
1. Fast charging - ain't there yet. 2. Massive charging networks nationwide - maybe 15% there. 2a. Electrical capacity issues. CA's right on the borderline of being able to provide enough juice for normal needs - adding in a lot of EV demand will really stress the grid. 3. hi-cap batteries - about 75% there. 4. inexpensive - again, not there. A hybrid's about $5-10k more than a straight gas engine, and full EV's more expensive yet. And perhaps the most important: 5. Sufficient customer knowledge. You get an EV rental, and you've not thought about it before, you're going to be going "Okay, I need to find a charger near where I'm staying. And I've got to worry about it while on the road." Then it's "Oh, it's going to take THAT long to recharge during the middle of my trip? Yeah, not gonna get one of these again when a gas engine takes 10 minutes, and that includes taking a leak and getting a drink." Especially in the western states, range matters a LOT. Frankly, it's just not time for them yet. It's like trying to create a 1960s transportation net in the 1890s in about 10 years - whatever you could come up with to replace the horse won't be affordable to everyone, you wouldn't be able to reliably fuel it, and the roads couldn't handle it. It'd be an expensive flop, and set cars back by 20-30 years. So for EVs will it take another 30-40 years? Maybe. But we'll need an administration's that's actually energy friendly instead of all in on the green agenda. And they need to let it grow organically (and maybe fail to prove viability) instead of mandating it and promising to dump the IC engine to 'save the planet'. First and foremost, it wasn't driven by consumer supply and demand. It was driven by government green subsidies and green tax rebates and then by utopian academia and media.
When the hell have any of these people produced anything useful? They produce political correctness and mandates of which neither is useful to anyone but themselves. 'Safe and effective' should drive NO policy coming from any of these critters. The “Blood Moon Purim Eclipse” of March 25th Will Happen at About the Same Time “The Devil Comet” Becomes Visible to the Naked Eye
QUOTE: During the next couple of months, so many amazing things are going to be happening in the heavens. For example, during the Great American Eclipse of 2024 on April 8th, the sun, the moon and the seven other planets in our solar system will all line up in the sky. It is almost as if the entire solar system will be screaming that this is a once in a lifetime event. . . . In the upcoming lunar eclipse, the Earth’s shadow will block out 97% of the moon’s surface. . . . We also know that in late March “the Devil Comet” will be racing through the sky as this blood moon eclipse is happening. In fact, it is being reported that it is possible that this comet “could be visible to the naked eye” at that time… https://basedunderground.com/2024/03/18/the-blood-moon-purim-eclipse-of-march-25th-will-happen-at-about-the-same-time-the-devil-comet-becomes-visible-to-the-naked-eye/ The Nation doesn't like Fetterman anymore

QUOTE: Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch wondered what the agency, which is not allowed to operate domestically, was doing there. Why didn't the Pelosi January 6 commission, as corrupt as it was, not disclose the CIA involvement? What were they used for? Were they investigating foreign intelligence operations? Were they investigating American citizens? What else have they done related to January 6? https://pjmedia.com/victoria-taft/2024/03/16/what-was-the-cia-doing-at-the-january-6-riot-n4927374 One of the many reasons that the Jan 6 committee destroyed their records, which by the way was a criminal act. Where is the DOJ to prosecute those Jan 6 committee crimes and try to recover or reconstruct that evidence? Where is SCOTUS to tell the DOJ that since the government illegally destroyed exculpatory evidence that therefore the government cannot prosecute the Jan 6 hostages. Where are the honest lawyers and law professors to object to this miscarriage of justice.
I know! I used honest and lawyers in the same sentence. I apologize. If you want to see how lawfare works, especially in elections go to the Dogpile search engine and search, 'Our Ruling Elite and The Regime (part III) by Amicus Republicae from March 3,2024.
Rinse and repeat for the upcoming chaos. Excellent. Thanks for sharing. More people really need to read this.
Especially the explanation of "Adversarial Inversion Lawfare". It makes it quite clear why the Trump team couldn't challenge much less win in court over election fraud in 2020. https://amicusrepublicae.substack.com/p/our-ruling-elite-and-the-regime-part-c75 Yea, an oops by any other name. I wonder if perhaps Congress can drag Brennan in to do some questioning? Naaaw, that would be too transparent.
The "bloodbath" statement is being twisted by the left to smear Trump. But considering the similarities between the Democrat party today and Nazi Germany in the 1930's I do honestly fear a bloodbath is coming. The Democrats are replacing citizens with illegals because it will give them power forever. But these newcomer replacement voters must be paid/bribed and there is only one place to get the money and that is to take it from the middle class. THAT is the plan and it will destroy the middle class and make them the enemy of the newcomers. I think it is part of the Democrat plan to use the newcomers to riot and burn and destroy cities to demand their free stuff. I think that the Democrats are indeed planning a bloodbath, a Holodomor a Kristallnacht against the white middle class. You do see this beginning to happen in Europe don't you. Women in Scandanavian countries are literally being told to accept that rape is just inevitable with a more diverse population and they need to stay home or only go outside with a man. Ask yourself if you knew before this latest Hamas war if you realized that America had more "Palestinians" than Palestine? Your government has been secretly flying them in to our country and awarding the citizenship for decades. And they hate you. You do see that, right? And they all get the free stuff that comes from the oppressive federal and state taxes you pay. Some of them are so inventive that they have figured out how to collect 2 and 3 families worth of welfare for one family. They have 3 wives collecting welfare BUT your wife must work a full time job so you can pay the taxes to support all 3 of the newcomers wives. Is this a great country or what? And not only is your government eagerly complicit in this destruction of America but they hide it from you and if you discover what they are doing and complain you will go to jail. And guess what!!! All of the jail guards are newcomers and they hate white Americans so they torture you while you are in jail!!! THIS is what the Democrats are importing to replace you. THIS is your future.
The whole story has a crap ending but fear not. Stock water, food, and ammo as a backstop. A Bible is also helpful.
The Thin Veneer of Civilization
QUOTE: The prosperity and leisure afforded by modernity is in some ways corrupting, but the reality is that the true state of nature is feral, selfish, and amoral – the survival of the fittest. The elevating state of civilization is our buffer – and a thin one at that – against what Hobbes called the war of all against all. But that kind of disintegration into savagery is the state of society toward which we are headed in America as the far-left Democrat party rips away that thin veneer of civilization to keep the masses atomized rather than unified, at each other’s throats, and under the totalitarian control of those in power. https://www.frontpagemag.com/the-thin-veneer-of-civilization/ |
