Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

And DeSantis Just Keeps Truckin'
Cracking down on retail theft and porch pirates is one of those "at the margins" changes so necessary to gradually turn our Ship of State off its course towards disaster. I expect a big BlueAnon boo-hoo in 3..2..1.. People should go to jail for the CIA spying on Americans and for the misuse of the FISA court. This is a serious crime against Americans and our constitution. These crimes by our federal government deserve the attention and aggressive prosecution that they are using against the J6 protestors. Our federal government is corrupt in the worst way. Can't we please go back to politicians and government employees just getting kickbacks from contracts and favors instead of the traitorous destruction of our country?
Arrrggh. My 'conservative' congressman voted 'yea' to continue allowing FISA abuse against citizens. I'll be voting for his opposition in the primaries, but unfortunately for that candidate, if you win my primary vote you're probably going to lose the nomination since my vote is, apparently, the kiss of death.
No one can excuse maltreatment of children. But I don't think they looked past the surface on this issue. Many mental health issues are hereditary and it is logical that a child inherits the same mental health issues that you see in the parents which this study is trying to claim cause the children's problems. Everyone knows families with mental health issues and also know that not every family member is identical in the way their mental health issues affects their everyday actions. Just as fat parents tend to have fat children bi-polar parents tend to have bi-polar children. The environment that the children are brought up in "may" make their problems worse or better or it may not.
Instead of spending good money to bring more wolves to Alaska lets put alligators in the Rio Grande.
There are already large numbers in the eastern stretches of the Rio Grand.
Re: Pandering to Putin.
“You can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs.” These were the words New York Time’s correspondent Walter Duranty used to describe the starvation of 4 million Ukrainians targeted by another Vladimir. Vladimir Lenin. The kulaks, Russian peasants had created modest wealth through farming. Communists don’t like a middle class. Duranty pretty much covered up the mass starvation going on in Ukraine, describing how some were on, “short rations.” Talk about pandering. Oliver Wiseman isn’t even a creature of the Left. He seems not to remember all the pandering the democrats give to communists dictators. I remember well how the democrats of the 80’s, 90’s and beyond, never met a dictator they didn’t pander to. The list is endless. They still have great respect for Fidel Castro. Cuba is still regarded as the great utopia. They have a statue of Lenin in Seattle. Asking why Moscow doesn’t resemble San Francisco, Detroit, Chicago, or any of the major blue cities in filth, high crime, violence and disrepute, isn’t pandering. It is actually a good question. Most of us on the right, know the answer. Oliver Wiseman, is an example of why I can’t be a libertarian. They just can’t get around to condemning anything. I’m still a registered republican. The Republican Party doesn’t represent my beliefs. The current members in congress are the world’s biggest hypocrites, liars and backstabbers. Talk about panders. They pander to everyone, except their constituents. Well, except when they are trying to raise funds. I don’t fall for that pandering anymore. If Wiseman wants to write about media pandering, he doesn’t need to look very far. The sycophants are everywhere in the American media. You want an example of pandering? Go read about David Brooks and Obama’s pants. The crease was just perfect. Obama gave us an exceptional performance of pandering to Putin. “Tell Vlad, I’ll have better flexibility, after the election.” Russia! Russia! Russia! This crap is just a parody at this point. 33 TRILLION dollars in debt and no southern border. Hello McFly!!
Some years back I worked with a man who was born in Ukraine in the 30's. His parents lived with his grandparents before and during the Holodomor. His grandfather owned a few acres and grew mostly beets. He told me that his grandfather saw this coming and decided to bury/clamp beets in the forested land near their home. He made about a dozen of these stashes of mostly beets and a few other root vegetables. He said that the Russian soldiers went from house to house with carts and searched their homes and barns and took all the food and claimed it was needed to feed the armies. There were four adults living in the house and after the soldiers left and winter came on they could only risk eating one meal a day which they would cook at 3 AM in the fireplace. The four adults would eat all the food, burn the scraps and put some wet wood on the fire to kill the smell of cooking food. He also said that he was told that 8 million Ukrainians died of starvation during this time.
It was interesting because my parents married in 1933 and the Great Depression and WW II were a common topic at meals as I grew up. My parents stayed with my fathers grandparents along with four of my fathers siblings and they planted over an acre to feed the family. Someone went to City Hall everyday to stand in line for a bag of food never knowing what they would get. What they hoped for was bread and cheese. They never got meat and typically got fruit or vegetables. Most people born since 1950 didn't grow up understanding this or experiencing it. Our current system provides everything we could need and everyone expects that and assumes it is the norm. It isn't. Now we’re coming full circle. The people of the WEF are trying to kill farming. Support the farmers! They are leading the way in protest all over Europe.
The authoritarian WEF people better stop and realize how outnumbered they are. In the '70s I knew from work a middle aged guy and his wife who were from Ukraine. During WW2 they had ended up as slave laborers in Germany. They were fortunately given the choice to return to the Soviet Union or not- many slave laborers and POWs in Germany were simply sent back.
They never wanted to say a word about Ukraine or the Holodomor. Which is a similar reaction I got from a woman who had been 8 years old when the Russians invaded her homeland in Estonia. I guess that because you were family, you got to hear the stories. Re: Traitor John Brennan Mobilized Foreign Intelligence Services to Spy on the Duly Elected American President
And Nixon, Halderman, Ehrlichman, et al. were bad guys? The intelligence agencies in DC are a far greater threat to The Republic than those guys ever were.

Lack of impulse control. Inadequate emotional regulation. Inability to contextualize events beyond one's control. Societal acceptance of childish behavior well into adult age. You know, the things that good parenting and a functioning civilization used to guard against. We are so screwed... Two additional thoughts:
“Where men are forbidden to honour a king, they honour millionaires, athletes, or film-stars instead; even famous prostitutes or gangsters. For spiritual nature, like bodily nature, will be served; deny it food and it will gobble poison.” C.S. Lewis second: Sport fans have a perfect emotional relationship with their team -- crazy emotional commitment without any responsiblity and the team does not have to reciprocate. Kinda a form of Porn. Sure: High Passion + high Testosterone+ no commitment =Sports/Porn
Clearer:
Sure: High Passion + high Testosterone + no commitment + no actual participation = Sports fan OR Porn watcher.

Academics blame... everyone but themselves. Zero self criticism in the halls of academia except for WOKE bs.
Illegal aliens in private homes... I'll vote for 'fools'. John Brennan... Never renew FISA and institute firing and fines for illegal intel community spying. Now they serve on MSM circuits. Crazy over sports team losses... We are in the bread and circuses era doncha know. |
